As a school with affiliation, we need to register ourselves ( use the affiliation no) and then login, and then order the respective books. You will then be asked to choose ur vendor from a drop-down list. You can either choose ur local kerala vendor, or even Sapna at bengaluru ( there are 2 sapna ids - choose the email id dl@sapnaretail.com). Once the proforma is generated, the vendor will keep the books ready (either collect it from vendor physically by paying cash, or he will send by courier with extra charge).
Under this process, standard discount rate is 10% (official rate given in the portal)

NEW DELHI — Ed Dohring, a doctor from Arizona, had dreamed his whole life of reaching the top of Mount Everest. But when he summited a few days ago, he was shocked by what he saw.
Climbers were pushing and shoving to take selfies. The flat part of the summit, which he estimated at about the size of two Ping-Pong tables, was packed with 15 or 20 people. To get up there, he had to wait hours in a line, chest to chest, one puffy jacket after the next, on an icy, rocky ridge with a several-thousand foot drop.

He even had to step around the body of a woman who had just died.
"It was scary," he said by telephone from Kathmandu, Nepal, where he was resting in a hotel room. "It was like a zoo."
This has been one of the deadliest climbing seasons on Everest, with at least 10 deaths. And at least some seem to have been avoidable.

The problem hasn't been avalanches, blizzards or high winds. Veteran climbers and industry leaders blame the presence of too many people on the mountain, in general, and too many inexperienced climbers, in particular.
Fly-by-night adventure companies are taking up untrained climbers who pose a risk to everyone on the mountain. And the Nepalese government, hungry for every climbing dollar it can get, has issued more permits than Everest can safely handle, some experienced mountaineers say.
Add to that Everest's inimitable appeal to a growing body of thrill-seekers the world over. And the fact that Nepal, one of Asia's poorest nations and the site of most Everest climbs, has a long record of shoddy regulations, mismanagement and corruption.
The result is a crowded, unruly scene reminiscent of "Lord of the Flies" — at 29,000 feet. At that altitude, a delay of even an hour or two can mean life or death.
To reach the summit, climbers shed every pound of gear they can and take with them just enough canisters of compressed oxygen to make it to the top and back down. It is hard to think straight at that altitude, climbers say.
According to Sherpas and climbers, some of the deaths this year were caused when people were held up in the long lines on the last 1,000 feet or so of the climb, unable to get up and down fast enough to replenish their oxygen supply. Others were simply not fit enough to be on the mountain in the first place.
Some climbers did not even know how to put on a pair of crampons, clip-on spikes that increase traction on ice, Sherpas said.
Nepal has no strict rules about who can climb Everest, and veteran climbers say that is a recipe for disaster.
"You have to qualify to do the Ironman," said Alan Arnette, a prominent Everest chronicler and climber. "You have to qualify to run the New York marathon. But you don't have to qualify to climb the highest mountain in the world? What's wrong with this picture?"
The last time 10 or more people died on Everest was in 2015, during an avalanche.
By some measures, the Everest machine has only gotten more out of control.
Last year, veteran climbers, insurance companies and news organizations exposed a far-reaching conspiracy among guides, helicopter companies and hospitals to bilk millions of dollars from insurance companies by evacuating trekkers with minor signs of altitude sickness.
Climbers complain of thefts and heaps of trash on the mountain. And this year, government investigators uncovered vast problems with the lifesaving oxygen systems used by many climbers. Climbers said cylinders had exploded or had been found to be leaking or to have been improperly filled on a black market.
But despite complaints about safety lapses, this year the Nepali government issued a record number of permits, 381, as part of a bigger push to commercialize the mountain. Climbers say the permit numbers have been going up steadily each year and that this year the traffic jams were heavier than ever.
"This is not going to improve," said Lukas Furtenbach, a guide who recently relocated his climbers to the Chinese side of Everest because of the overcrowding in Nepal and the surge of inexperienced climbers.
"There's a lot of corruption in the Nepali government," he said. "They take whatever they can get."
Nepali officials denied any wrongdoing and said the trekking companies were the ones responsible for safety on the mountain.
Danduraj Ghimire, the director-general of Nepal's department of tourism, said in an interview on Sunday that the large number of deaths this year was not related to crowds, but was a result of fewer good weather days for climbers to safely summit. He said the government was not inclined to change the number of permits.
"If you really want to limit the number of climbers," Ghimire said, "let's just end all expeditions on our holy mountain."
To be sure, the race to the top is driven by the weather. May is the best time of the year to summit, but even then there are only a few days when it is clear enough and the winds are mild enough to make an attempt at the top.
But one of the critical problems this year, veterans say, seems to be the sheer number of people trying to reach the summit at the same time. And since there is no government traffic cop high on the mountain, the task of deciding when groups get to attempt their final ascent is left up to mountaineering companies.
Climbers themselves, experienced or not, are often so driven to finish their quest that they may keep going even if they see the dangers escalating.
A few decades ago, the people climbing Everest were largely experienced mountaineers willing to pay a lot of money. But in recent years, longtime climbers say, lower-cost operators working out of small storefronts in Kathmandu, the capital, and even more expensive foreign companies that do not emphasize safety have entered the market and offered to take just about anyone to the top.
Sometimes these trips go very wrong.
From interviews with several climbers, it seems that as the groups get closer to the summit, the pressures increase and some people lose their sense of decency.
Fatima Deryan, an experienced Lebanese mountaineer, was making her way to the summit recently when less experienced climbers started collapsing in front of her. Temperatures were dropping to -30 Celsius (-22 Fahrenheit). Oxygen tanks were running low. And roughly 150 people were packed together, clipped to the same safety line.
"A lot of people were panicking, worrying about themselves — and nobody thinks about those who are collapsing," Deryan said.
"It is a question of ethics," she said. "We are all on oxygen. You figure out that if you help, you are going to die."
She offered to help some of the sick people, she said, but then calculated she was beginning to endanger herself and kept going to the summit, which is currently measured at 29,029 feet. On the way back down, she had to fight through the crowds again.
"It was terrible," she said.
Around the same time, Rizza Alee, an 18-year-old climber from Kashmir was making his way up the mountain. He said he was stunned by how little empathy people had for those who were struggling.
"I saw some people like they had no emotions," he said. "I asked people for water and no one gave me any. People are really obsessed with the summit. They are ready to kill themselves for the summit."
But Alee himself took some chances; he has a heart condition and says he "kind of lied" to his expedition company when they asked if he had any health issues.
Dohring, the American doctor, represents the other end of the spectrum.
At 62, he has climbed peaks all over the world. He read about explorers as a boy and said he had always wanted to get to the "one spot where you can stand higher than any place else on earth."
To prepare for Everest, he slept at home in a tent that simulated high-altitude conditions. His total Everest experience cost $70,000.
Still, there was only so much he could prepare for. Last month, when he hiked into base camp at Everest at an altitude of more than 17,000 feet, Dohring said he was overcome with awe.
"You look at a circle of mountain peaks above you and think, 'What am I doing here?"' he said.
He pressed on. After long, cold days, he inched up a spiny trail to the summit early on Thursday and ran into crowds "aggressively jostling for pictures."
He was so scared, he said, that he plunked down on the snow to keep from losing his balance and had his guide take a picture of him holding up a small sign that said, "Hi Mom Love You."
On the way down, he passed two more dead bodies in their tents.
"I was not prepared to see sick climbers being dragged down by the mountain by Sherpas or the surreal experience of finding dead bodies," he said.

2. rationale - the very hot season will just slightly (only slightly) ease off - so the 40 degree heat in oct will still be manageable for me as a ex-chennai-ite
3. i also need atleast that much time to figure out what the options in mumbai/delhi are for me. i envisage some effort on trying to obtain some clarity about elakshya by july-end. based on the same, aug 1 i start my job search and as u guys might know, i am leaving for mumbai on aug 19. will stay there for 15-20 days (based on need) and gather sufficient depth on the market there and my prospects, so back to blr, and then leave on sept 26 to dubai !
3. besides, the easiest thing to obtain is a 30-day visa, so i am restricting my stay in dubai to the 28-day period.
4. i had met abdurahman in kozhikode when i visited last week. i am confident that he will provide sufficient contacts / acquaintances / breaks out there. i also spoke to both harish and sundar today evening, and they have promised all possible support. harish shared good inputs regarding his own 20-year old dubai seach (with the help of swami, ganesh etc)

9. for dubai visa eligibility, i dont qualify the income criteria (which is Rs 2 L/annum), since i dont file ITR. so the only alternative is the "travel" criteria. thankfully, i visited a "shenzen" county in the last 5 years, ie to italy in may 2015. that will hopefully pull me thru safely wrt a dubai visa.

1. As of May 1,2019-4 pm, i have decided that i will try out project EG, in a fairly measured and controlled way (not going all out, but perhaps devoting 10-20% of my working time to it). cud entail 2-3 days every fortnite to vadakara. However, in a few months time, if things look really bright, will increase my length of stay there.
2. as per plan, I will open my floodgates on aug 1 and start connecting with people. So out of this 150 lakhs on a yearly basis which comes to 15 lakhs on a monthly basis half of it is in the form of tuition fees and seven lakhs. At the same thing goes as

salaries also about seven lakhs of teacher expenses are there every month, the remaining is spent for the diesel for the bus maintenance, then food expense raw materials administration etc. So, approximately 15 lakhs of So, even if there is a mismatch here
it has possibly been corrected in the past, but the donations from the trustees we do not know about future but said that the biggest challenge is the code books isn't a mess, this will work only on Microsoft Excel. There are also some past lab he's
mentioned that it could be about 90 lakhs out of which 70 to 75 has been guaranteed by the trustees,
which means they will take care of it over time later, they will stall

in terms of children using the school. So, therefore, the income generation is fairly constant, it is not going to change rapidly unless there is some alarming situation which happens. But I have also mentioned that there are three other schools including a government school, all of which are bigger than the area itself, the potential is there for remapping appreciation, it is huge, but it does not mean that you will have children moving away from those schools and coming into this particular institution also, because let us understand two other non elastic things in the area first this number of children is not going to multiply
the parent decidedly not going to start the breeding more children and therefore
send more children to school
children are also not going to migrate so easily from the other schools
at the same time the income of the parents is also not good increase that much because of which we would be able to increase the school fees. So, there are innovative ways which we would need to look at to generate extra revenue for the school. So, the mandate which has been given to the management team, it is a going concern whether anyone comes or not it will run but can we look at this opportunity and try to make a difference. So we might not be able to make huge amounts of money. But one system is established. See, I'm looking at about 15 lakhs of outlay out of it even if you are able to say between five to 10% it is between 75,100 our flags that we are able to save based on more efficiencies, even assuming that we did generate extra revenue even assuming that most
as far as we keep to our current situation and increase efficiency by about 5% or 70% we should be able to generate about one odd lack of revenue, which could perhaps be shared amongst the management team, which is after emancipation everybody has. So there would be no interference from the school trust towards the running. And there will be a written agreement which we will assign in itself, where we commit to ourselves starting from this academic year itself. I have also told my family just for comfort and just to sell this point, though, it is not so important that it is not required for me to be in full time, we can keep it flexible, it will be my call and continuing with other business interests and pursuits. It is not a formal, full time corporate employment. But the school management has been handed over to me in the hope that I turn things around. So I don't report anyone but the trust is like a board of directors. So they will step in if any alarm signals are there. But the school is a going concern. And even assuming on a worst case scenario that they leave midway,
nothing is going to get affected, they're going to have the principal and other people manage the school
along with the admin stuff, okay. So, what are the primary challenges here? Now, accords book is a big challenge it has to be cleaned and prepared properly cash flow situation has to be exactly understood, the new management team has to organize for fresh funds and maybe slightly increase a piece as I mentioned, it is not very elastic, the classrooms is an area where there is a scope for greater potential it can hold those students perhaps know as against only 600 on the rules. So, this is also not too elastic, because
as I mentioned, that particular locality or rural
has only that many children available because other sort of other schools. So let us see how we tackle that. We also need to tighten relationship with the regulator, very important because we need to bow down to the regulator at all time. Probably they could be some representative of cpvc Kitchen, but the regional office I know is
the Central Board of Secondary Education regional office for the South john circle is in Champaign, so we might need to meet them once.
Of course, we need to make money of the school building this has been
handed over to us on a platter actually the building and the buses are a huge asset
which can enable us to do so many other activities from
8am to 3pm schoolers. So,
we can similarly market the school in the catchment area with new brochures and neighborhoods. look at ways to generate more revenue, we need to obviously developed the physical infrastructure better with classroom furniture computer lab, we need to push for funds on the test which I do not know whether it is possible at this point of time
or we need to collect some kind of building funds from parents. This is not unheard of a one time fee
because of the idea of a new management team. And because of the local community, we need to look at innovative approaches here we will brainstorm about this when we meet in person and figure out if there is an opportunity for us to collect this one time sinking fund.
as Robin mentioned, there is a need to rationalize payment to the staff whether the principal needs that 30,000 rupee salary, whether we can make do with only two admin staff, whether we can right size the teacher restaurant itself by giving them more classrooms to handle so we need to blog leaks and cash outflow. So we discussed about how diesel can be handled with a stick
with the opening balance closing balance and use of diesel in the middle of the month, we spoke about
using the petroleum market.
Obviously, they could be leakage in the raw material and food which is again a big expense.
I think the children pay about 4005 thousand rupees separately, I don't remember I remember this about 8000 rupees per year they pay for the school bus,
the food obviously separate they pay money for that. So they could be leakage because most of these things are handled by cash. This is something very important and
security for children is very important. It's becoming important
all over
India. And I keep seeing it in front of
national public school study,
where many initiatives are introduced on a monthly basis towards security,
closed circuit cameras are all over the place. In fact, a small institution like can be a very small physical area, I think they have about 200 cc TVs, if I'm not wrong. So,
there is something like that which is needed, we need an intercom, we may need biometric systems. So, this is also something very important motivating the existing team to perform better. Because there is a new management team there is an opportunity there is a growth potential for the teachers themselves.
Though I know that they are fairly
low level or low skilled individuals
show them this carrot to try to have them perform better, we need to enhance connectivity with the local community, the parents and other influences in the region begin individuals who will be full time manager The problem is neither
going to be
operationally full time.
So we might need a staff like

have told them that I don't need to be completely but I can be half based in Bengaluru, I can travel to evergreen on a need basis, maybe about 10 days of travel a month would be good enough maybe an initial basis it would be more
or maybe even 20 days
a month, but so we cannot say and keep it flexible. Okay. Now, this project opens up many new opportunities. Supposing I actually relocate to what we can use the school model to bring in more schools into the fold and have a group of 10 to 20 schools in the region under our management, it is then all left to our own capacity and imagination. So, what we achieve our success in the first school along with running the school, I can look at marketing the school management team properly to other schools and replicate the model and take more schools under the finger let's say we have a
management consultants, school management consultants,
so that school management consultants could
be the management team for those 20 schools.
And therefore, we would be able to make some money the process
the biggest thing is a school building and buses which have already told about we can do computer classes for the unemployed
local youth in the region and employable also, the school building is always there is an infrastructure it is not running away in the evenings and night. Of course, we need to see
if our buses can be used to
bring in people in the afternoon or evening after they come back from their respective farm or work or small small things we need to see how the logistics for this can be taken care of. So,
new model to deploy buses, buses can actually be outsourced and we can have events in the place of bus, we don't let us see let us work the mathematics out. So, the school goes a credibility, it is an institution it has been there for the last
23 years, which is not a short time. So it is a running institution. So using the name evergreen as a brand gives a lot of credibility, which will help us get in the local graduates make them employable all under the umbrella of evergreen supposing the press
gives us the authority to easily use a brand name evergreen we can use them to
your these local graduates or semi graduates or even people in rural Carolina completely understand the profile of the people and the students who would come in, but I think we can always make them employable we can send them to corporates in the metro cities

local physical ecosystem,
the ecosystem of
the process,
I remember that we have a small circle, I
remember mentioning that that particular village has gotten that that model is very simple. There will be one fancy store one shoe shop, one closed shop, one salon and barber shop, one bakery, one small restaurant like friends hotel, a local mosque and perhaps a local temple
furniture shop,
one vegetable shop,
to shop whatever, that's it that would be the community. So, we are talking about that kind of a physical ecosystem and
we can do any changes there. We can also float an NGO a non government organization I do not know the process you're involved. I do not know what the regulatory norms here we can obtain funds in the process using the school as an excuse. Let us see, resistor one of the schools is a nonprofit entity take government funds bring in a new channel, we will tried to do what is permissible within the
law.
There is one thing which I remember from insurance days
there is a lot of
subsidy, which the government of India gives for any product or service with benefits rural India, the government is fairly partial towards rural India. I remember in my company, there was a target
for rural insurance, which was there and

huge amount of money
just to obtain policies from rural India, it used to follow a policy in free kind of form,
which essentially meant that rural India subsidized
urban India in a big way,
there were a lot of benefits which

to rural India at that point of time
in order to satisfy government regulations, which means that there is a lot of money to be made in
rural India, either from corporates or from the government itself. Let us see, I mean, let us explore what the possibilities are.
So I mentioned about education being a sensitive topic, vulnerable topic. So, government has a lot of focus on that local philanthropists
could plug in money, corporate leaders.
I know as a matter of fact that there are starting from Chris Gopalakrishnan to so many others. There are so many corporate leaders from Kerala. And
a good cross section of
those corporate leaders would be
let's say North Carolina and Muslims
who are corporate leaders in Bengaluru.
So if you approach the right people, there might be let's say a social obligation or emotional Connect,
which will enable them to pump and money. So we need to actually spread ourselves that we can invite and
the Bangalore connection helps I can always meet up with people in Bangalore, we can try to get some help from head honchos.
So consulting with other schools, an audit an ISO certification, this
is something we can possibly do. CBC affiliations for the school,
open a channel for bringing in will train the teachers from elsewhere from Tamil Nadu maybe importing into exporting.
So therefore, I've said that we do not need to restrict ourselves to evergreen public school at all. The opportunities are far and wide spread
across education sector, and we can spread the net as much as capacity permits, using the Evergreen example as a showcase. So at least he can be handled well, even if I'm not able to do any of
this.
