June 8, 2016, Romance Magazine published my contemporary romance short story, “Walk Like a Turkey.” It's about Jolene, an artistic mail carrier, trying not to fall in love with Matt, an unconventional researcher studying a flock of turkeys.
The magazine is no longer for sale.

Jolene fingered the chartreuse sticky note. It still read,
Ponytail Lady, Please meet me at Dairy Isle at 10 p.m.
Brenda walked through dust particles dancing on light rays in their one room country post office. She leaned toward the note. “Where'd you find that?”
“On my route, stuck to the mailbox at the Creek Road lodge.”
“The Columbus professor's fishing retreat?”
Jolene nodded and folded a canvas mail bag.
“His doctoral student is there now.” Brenda stacked plastic containers. “I bet he's smart.”
“He's probably weird.” Jolene placed her bag on top of the containers. “What kind of creep asks a girl to meet him at ten? A mass murderer? A rapist?
