Janet Wells and her husband share their Western Pennsylvanian log house with their son and three tabby cats. Mother of two and retired teacher of children challenged by learning, Janet revels in retirement. Decades of walking in nature transformed her from a sightseer pursuing amusement to a camera-toting naturalist.
Janet published six short stories for adults, including two with Chicken Soup for the Soul. She won five awards from Pennwriters Annual Contests. The most recent, in May 2025, granted first place to her nonfiction story, “Red-Tail Mystery.” Readers may check her reflections on country life at https://janetofwellswood.blogspot.com/
