Popcorn fundraising ends mid-November, please bring forms to pack meetings.
Cub Scouting is fun for the whole family. Boys and girls start with their best right now selves and grow into their very best future selves. It’s fun, hands-on learning and achievement that puts kids in the middle of the action and prepares them for today – and for life.
Ready to get your child in on the action? Use the link below to sign up today.
Cub Scouts are at that magical age where everything is new and possible and most important, fun. They build things, play with purpose, make friends and work together. The life lessons learned here not only transform today’s cub scouts into tomorrow’s Scout BSA members but also help form a foundation to embrace opportunity and overcome obstacles in life.
We provide an educational program for youth of all ages to build character through learning the responsibilities of citizenship and developing personal fitness.
DO YOU BEST. HAVE FUN DOING IT.
The best way to find out what you do best is to do it. Catch a fish, ride a bike, set up a tent, build a pinewood derby car. Cub scouting offers boys and girls the opportunity to see and learn fun new things that cannot be found anywhere else.

What are the top five questions we get the most from new parents when they first join Cub Scouts? Check out this video and find out!
For more information, you can download the Family Information Guide. In it, you'll find questions to answers like:
Why join Cub Scouting?
How does cub scouting work?
What role will I play as a parent or guardian?
How much does it cost?
Cub Scouts is for children in Kindergarten through Fifth Grade.
We are open to the full family, with all boy dens and all girl dens.
While many of our cubs attend Highland Elementary School and St. Bridget School in Cheshire, we welcome kids from all schools in town, as well as outside of Cheshire.
Pack meetings are monthly on Tuesdays at the First Congregational Church. Den meetings and other fun outings occur in between the monthly Pack meetings. Parents should plan for 2-4 meetings or events a month on average.
When compared to the cost of sports and many other activities, there is no doubt that Scouting delivers great value to its members! For the 2024-2025 year, families can expect to pay per scout for membership, plus the cost of uniform supplies, optional handbooks, and a few nominal fees for optional special activities. New families can register online at any time at BeAScout.org. Returning families can manage their renewal online, and will receive email guidance once the renewal period begins. Learn more about membership fees.
Your child will need a uniform and handbook once they join, but don't worry about this for your first meeting. For a list of places to pick up new or used uniforms, click here. We also offer a "swap shop" at all meetings with free hand-me-down uniforms from older scouts who have outgrown their uniform.
The Scoutbook website is the primary way the Pack communicates with families about upcoming events and your child's advancement in the program. Please be sure to create an account and to log-in regularly.
When you and your child first join Cub Scouts you become part of a group with children in the same grade and who are the same gender, this small group is called a den.
Each grade level has an animal or emblem associated with it, this is called a rank.
Kindergarten – Lion
First Grade – Tiger
Second Grade – Wolf
Third Grade – Bear
Fourth and Fifth Grade – WEBELOS
Cub Scouts work in their dens and at home on activities that are in their handbooks. These activities are grouped together by subject and are called adventures. After a number of required adventures and elective adventures are completed a Cub Scout earns the rank associated with their grade.
