Imperial lies at the heart of a cultural district that includes several prominent museums: The Natural History Museum, the Science Museum and the stunning Victoria & Albert Museum are all a short walk away as well as the Royal Albert Hall. Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens are about 100m to the north. Kensington Gardens is home to the Serpentine Gallery.

The shopping areas of Kensington High Street and Knightsbridge (including the Harrods department store) are also within easy walking distance.
