Since 01.02.2018 I am part of Volocopter GmbH as Senior Flight Control Engineer.
At Volocopter we are building the first manned, fully electric and safe VTOL in the world. We want to make humanity’s dream of flying come true and help modern cities resolve their increasing mobility issues.
What I do in short words:
Flight Control Laws
Sensor Data Fusion for State Estimation
Flight Physics, Flight Mechanics
Electric Propulsion
Matlab, Simulink, Python, C, C++, ROS
ARP4754, DO-178, DO-254, DO-160
DE, CVE
Statement of Work, Supplier Management
System and component level design description and requirements (left side of V&V)
SC-VTOL, CS-27, CS-29
In WS 2018/2019 I was giving the lecture Introduction to Aerial Robotics at University of Stuttgart.
This lecture is on aerial robotics, i.e., robotic systems that can perform stable flight. From rigid body kinematics and dynamics to motion planning, the lecture covers the most important steps for enabling aerial systems/vehicles for achieving stable and meaningful aerial robotic tasks. This lecture requires sound knowledge on nonlinear differential equations, rigid body dynamics, basics on control theory and hands-on mentality. During the course the following topics will be studied:
Rigid body kinematics and dynamics of Multirotor Aerial Vehicles (MAVs)
Position and attitude tracking control
Differential Flatness of MAVs
State Estimation and Localization
Motion Planning
Aerial Physical Interaction
Aerial Manipulation
The course is intended for (Master) students having visited lectures focusing on Control Theory, Nonlinear Control Theory and Rigid-Body Dynamics. Moreover, during the course Matlab/Simulink, Python, as well as Robot Operating System (ROS) can/will be used. ROS (Kinetic) will be introduced in the class as well, which will come with the dependency of a Linux-based operating system. Recommendation: Ubuntu 16.04.
Between 01.01.2017-31.01.2018 I was a part of the ITK family as a development engineer.
The company is specialized in "technical cybernetics", i.e. developing perception and control technologies for different industries from automotive to aerospace engineering and robotics. During my short time I have worked on the following projects:
Digital Filter Design (FIR, Kalman, Sliding Mode Filter)
Computer Vision (OpenCV Libraries)
Nonlinear Control of DC/DC Power Converters (Sliding Mode Control, Passivity Based Control, Flatness)
Object localization using ultrasonic sensors (automated parking systems)
I have lived and worked different countries including Turkey, Germany, France and USA.
