BUP BPM TAP - PRIVACY POLICY
Last Updated: September 26, 2026
1. INTRODUCTION
This Privacy Policy explains how BUP Apps ("BUP Apps", "we", "us", or "our") handles information in connection with the BUP BPM Tap Android application ("BUP BPM Tap", the "App", or the "Application").
BUP BPM Tap is a music utility designed to provide manual tap-tempo calculation and optional microphone-based automatic BPM estimation.
The App does not require users to create a BUP Apps account and does not operate a BUP Apps user-profile backend or cloud BPM-analysis service.
The App may use Google services including Google AdMob, the Google Mobile Ads SDK, Google User Messaging Platform ("UMP"), and Google Play Billing as described below.
2. CORE APP FUNCTIONALITY
The App's BPM functions are designed to operate locally on the user's device.
Manual Tap calculates tempo from the timing intervals between accepted screen taps.
Auto Detect analyzes audio obtained from the device microphone in real time to estimate musical tempo.
BUP Apps does not require users to upload songs or audio files to a BUP Apps server in order to use Manual Tap or Auto Detect.
3. MICROPHONE AND AUTO DETECT
Auto Detect requires Android microphone permission.
The App requests microphone access only when the user activates functionality that requires Auto Detect.
Microphone audio used for Auto Detect is processed locally and transiently for tempo analysis.
BUP BPM Tap does not intentionally record microphone audio to a permanent audio file, save microphone recordings to a BUP Apps cloud service, or upload microphone audio to BUP Apps for BPM analysis.
Microphone permission may be denied or revoked through Android settings.
Manual Tap remains available without microphone permission.
4. MANUAL TAP DATA
Manual Tap processes tap-event timing information to calculate BPM.
Tap timing is used for the immediate tempo calculation and is not uploaded to a BUP Apps BPM-analysis server.
The App does not require a user's name, email address, contacts, precise location, photographs, videos, or files in order to calculate BPM manually.
5. INFORMATION PROCESSED DIRECTLY BY BUP APPS
The App does not require users to submit personally identifying information directly to BUP Apps in order to use its core BPM functions.
The current release does not provide:
• BUP Apps user accounts;
• social profiles;
• cloud BPM-history synchronization;
• user-generated audio uploads to BUP Apps;
• a BUP Apps behavioral analytics platform; or
• a BUP Apps server-side database of App user profiles.
BUP Apps may receive information voluntarily submitted by a user through an external support or contact channel, such as an email sent to the published developer contact address.
Information voluntarily provided in such communications is handled for the purpose of responding to the communication and related support matters.
6. LOCAL APP DATA AND PREFERENCES
The App may store limited information locally on the device, including settings and operational state such as:
• selected application language;
• selected appearance or theme;
• haptic-feedback preference;
• local app configuration;
• advertising-frequency state where applicable;
• consent-related state managed by applicable Google SDKs; and
• local purchase-entitlement state or cached purchase status used to present the correct App experience.
These settings support App functionality.
Local App preferences are not independently uploaded to a BUP Apps user-profile server.
7. GOOGLE ADMOB AND GOOGLE MOBILE ADS
BUP BPM Tap uses Google AdMob and the Google Mobile Ads SDK to provide advertising unless the user has obtained an applicable ad-removal entitlement.
Google and its advertising technologies may automatically collect, process, and share certain information when advertising services are active.
Depending on SDK version, device configuration, jurisdiction, user privacy choices, Google settings, and applicable law, this information may include:
• IP address, which may be used to estimate general device location;
• user product interactions, including App launches, taps, advertisement interactions, and video views;
• diagnostic and performance information;
• Android Advertising ID where available and permitted;
• App Set ID;
• device identifiers;
• identifiers associated with accounts on the device where applicable; and
• information used for advertising, analytics associated with advertising, measurement, security, fraud prevention, abuse prevention, and regulatory compliance.
Google states that data automatically collected by the Google Mobile Ads SDK is encrypted in transit.
Google's processing is governed by Google's own applicable terms, privacy policies, advertising controls, consent systems, and legal obligations.
BUP Apps does not operate or control Google's independent advertising infrastructure.
8. PURPOSES OF ADVERTISING PROCESSING
Information processed through Google advertising technologies may be used for purposes including:
• requesting and serving advertisements;
• advertisement selection;
• personalized advertising where permitted and consented to;
• non-personalized or limited advertising;
• advertisement measurement;
• advertising-related analytics;
• frequency management;
• fraud prevention;
• abuse detection;
• security;
• regulatory compliance; and
• maintaining and improving advertising services.
The exact processing performed may depend on the user's jurisdiction, consent choices, Google settings, age/account signals, device configuration, SDK behavior, and applicable law.
9. GOOGLE USER MESSAGING PLATFORM AND PRIVACY CHOICES
BUP BPM Tap uses Google's User Messaging Platform ("UMP") to obtain and manage advertising privacy choices where required.
Depending on jurisdiction and Google configuration, users may be presented with a privacy message allowing them to:
• provide consent where consent is required;
• decline relevant consent where that option is available;
• manage detailed privacy purposes and vendor choices;
• review participating advertising vendors; and
• later modify or withdraw applicable privacy choices.
Where Google indicates that a privacy-options entry point is required, the App provides access to the applicable Google privacy-options interface.
Withdrawal or modification of consent does not affect processing that was lawful before the change.
10. INTERNET ACCESS
Manual Tap and the core local BPM analysis functions do not require a BUP Apps cloud service.
Internet or network access may nevertheless be used by integrated Google services for purposes including:
• requesting and downloading advertising content;
• Google AdMob and Mobile Ads services;
• advertising measurement and security;
• obtaining or displaying UMP privacy messages;
• processing advertising privacy choices;
• Google Play Billing communication and purchase-state verification where applicable;
• fraud prevention; and
• regulatory or platform-compliance functions.
Failure to load advertising, consent, or billing services must not intentionally disable the core Manual Tap functionality.
11. DEVICE PERMISSIONS AND PLATFORM CAPABILITIES
The App and included libraries may declare Android permissions and platform capabilities required for their functions.
These may include, depending on the final release configuration:
• RECORD_AUDIO for Auto Detect;
• INTERNET for applicable Google network services;
• VIBRATE for optional haptic feedback;
• advertising-identifier permissions where used and permitted;
• Android advertising-service or Privacy Sandbox-related capabilities introduced by applicable Google libraries; and
• billing-related platform integration required for Google Play purchases.
The App does not require access to contacts, SMS messages, call logs, precise GPS location, photographs, or videos for its normal BPM functionality.
12. ADVERTISING IDENTIFIERS
Google advertising services may process identifiers such as the Android Advertising ID where available and legally permitted.
Google Mobile Ads may also process App Set ID or other applicable identifiers according to SDK behavior, user settings, jurisdiction, and Google policy.
Users may reset, delete, limit, or otherwise control advertising identifiers through Android and Google privacy settings where such controls are available.
Advertising identifiers may be unavailable, restricted, or omitted depending on device configuration, age/account status, privacy choices, consent state, jurisdiction, or developer configuration.
13. PERSONALIZED, NON-PERSONALIZED, AND LIMITED ADS
Depending on applicable law, user privacy choices, consent status, Google configuration, and available advertising modes, the App may receive:
• personalized advertisements;
• non-personalized advertisements;
• limited advertisements; or
• advertisements operating under restricted-data-processing or equivalent privacy modes.
BUP Apps does not independently build a cross-app advertising profile of BUP BPM Tap users.
Advertising selection and personalization performed by Google or participating advertising providers are governed by their applicable systems and privacy terms.
14. REMOVE ADS AND GOOGLE PLAY BILLING
BUP BPM Tap may offer an optional Remove Ads purchase through Google Play Billing.
Google Play processes the purchase transaction and applicable payment information.
BUP Apps does not directly receive or store the user's full payment-card information.
The App may receive and process purchase status, product entitlement, acknowledgement state, and related Google Play Billing responses in order to:
• grant the purchased entitlement;
• restore a previously purchased entitlement;
• prevent advertising from being shown to an entitled user;
• handle pending or cancelled transactions correctly; and
• maintain purchase functionality.
Purchase entitlement information may be stored locally where required to provide the purchased App experience.
Google Play's handling of payment and account information is governed by Google's applicable terms and privacy policies.
15. DATA SHARING AND RECIPIENTS
BUP Apps does not sell microphone audio, manual tap timing, or BPM-analysis data as a standalone data-broker activity.
Information may nevertheless be transmitted to or processed by Google and participating service providers when Google services such as AdMob, Mobile Ads, UMP, or Google Play Billing are used.
The categories, purposes, and recipients of such processing depend on the specific Google service, applicable privacy choices, jurisdiction, and service configuration.
This Privacy Policy should therefore not be interpreted to mean that no information is ever transmitted to third parties when advertising, consent, or billing functionality is active.
16. LEGAL BASES WHERE APPLICABLE
Where data-protection law requires identification of a legal basis, processing performed directly by BUP Apps may rely, as applicable, on:
• processing necessary to provide functionality requested by the user;
• compliance with legal or platform obligations;
• legitimate interests such as maintaining App security, preventing abuse, and supporting reliable operation, where those interests are not overridden by applicable user rights; and
• consent where consent is required.
Advertising providers and other independent third parties determine and document the legal bases applicable to processing they perform within their own services.
Where consent is the applicable basis, users may withdraw that consent through the available privacy controls.
17. EUROPEAN PRIVACY RIGHTS
Users in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, Switzerland, and other jurisdictions providing similar rights may, subject to applicable law, have rights concerning personal data, including rights of:
• access;
• correction;
• deletion;
• restriction;
• objection;
• data portability where applicable; and
• withdrawal of consent where processing is based on consent.
Users may also have the right to lodge a complaint with an applicable data-protection supervisory authority.
Where Google manages advertising privacy choices, users may modify applicable choices using the privacy controls made available by Google and, where required, through the App.
18. TÜRKİYE - KVKK INFORMATION
Where Türkiye's Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 ("KVKK") applies, users have the right to be informed about the identity of the data controller, the purposes for which personal data is processed, the recipients and purposes of any transfer, the method and legal reason for collection, and the rights available under applicable law.
Depending on the processing activity, personal data may be obtained automatically through the user's interaction with the App, Android platform permissions, Google service integrations, or information voluntarily submitted through a support channel.
Users may exercise applicable rights under Article 11 of the KVKK, including requesting information about processing and exercising other rights provided by law, by contacting the data controller using the contact information stated below.
Processing independently performed by Google or other service providers is also subject to those providers' respective privacy obligations.
19. UNITED STATES STATE PRIVACY RIGHTS
Certain United States state privacy laws may provide residents with rights concerning:
• access;
• correction;
• deletion;
• targeted advertising;
• sale or sharing of personal information;
• profiling in certain contexts; and
• appeals or other privacy requests where applicable.
Google's privacy and advertising systems may provide applicable controls based on user location, account status, service configuration, or legal requirements.
BUP Apps does not independently operate a data-broker business or maintain an independent cross-context behavioral advertising database for BUP BPM Tap.
20. CHILDREN AND AGE-RESTRICTED USERS
BUP BPM Tap is a general-purpose music utility and is not specifically designed or directed as a children's application.
The App does not knowingly ask children to create BUP Apps profiles or directly submit personal information to a BUP Apps account system.
Advertising and privacy treatment may be limited, modified, or disabled based on applicable law, Google account or age signals, Play configuration, consent requirements, or platform policy.
If the App's intended audience, advertising configuration, or applicable legal obligations change, BUP Apps may update both product configuration and this Privacy Policy.
21. DATA RETENTION
BUP Apps does not maintain a server-side BPM Tap user-profile database for the core App functionality in the current release.
Microphone audio used for Auto Detect is not intentionally retained by BUP Apps as a microphone recording.
Manual tap timing used for BPM calculation is not uploaded to a BUP Apps BPM-analysis server.
Local preferences and local operational state may remain on the device until changed, cleared through Android settings, or removed by uninstalling the App.
Purchase-related entitlement information may remain locally as needed to reflect the user's purchase state.
Information independently processed by Google may be retained according to Google's applicable retention policies, legal obligations, configuration, consent status, and privacy controls.
22. DATA DELETION AND USER CONTROLS
Users may remove locally stored BUP BPM Tap preferences and operational data by:
• changing relevant App settings;
• revoking applicable Android permissions;
• clearing the App's storage through Android settings; or
• uninstalling the App.
Because the current release does not create a BUP Apps cloud account or BUP Apps server-side user profile, there is no separate BUP BPM Tap cloud-account database requiring an App-specific account-deletion flow.
Requests concerning information voluntarily provided directly to BUP Apps through support communications may be submitted using the contact details below, subject to applicable legal retention requirements.
Requests concerning information independently processed by Google should be submitted through Google's applicable privacy controls and request mechanisms.
23. DATA SECURITY
BUP Apps follows a data-minimization approach for its own App functionality.
Auto Detect is designed to process microphone audio locally rather than transmitting microphone audio to a BUP Apps BPM-analysis server.
BUP Apps does not intentionally store microphone recordings generated by Auto Detect.
Google states that data automatically collected by the Google Mobile Ads SDK is encrypted in transit using Transport Layer Security.
No software, device, storage, or network system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
24. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES AND ANALYTICS
Depending on the final enabled release configuration, BUP BPM Tap uses or may integrate:
• Google AdMob;
• Google Mobile Ads SDK;
• Google User Messaging Platform; and
• Google Play Billing.
The current release does not intentionally operate Firebase Analytics, Google Analytics, Meta/Facebook SDK analytics, or an unrelated developer-operated behavioral analytics platform unless explicitly identified in the final release audit.
Third-party services operate under their own terms, privacy policies, security practices, retention rules, and legal obligations.
25. AUTOMATED DECISION-MAKING AND PROFILING
BUP Apps does not use BPM Tap to make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects concerning users.
Auto Detect performs audio-signal analysis for the limited purpose of estimating musical tempo.
Advertising platforms may perform automated advertisement selection, measurement, or personalization according to applicable user choices, legal requirements, and their own systems.
26. INTERNATIONAL PROCESSING
Google and other service providers may process information using infrastructure located in different countries.
Where required, international processing or transfer is subject to the legal safeguards, contractual mechanisms, consent requirements, adequacy mechanisms, or other protections implemented by the relevant service provider and required by applicable law.
BUP Apps does not operate an independent international cloud infrastructure for BPM analysis.
27. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY
BUP Apps may update this Privacy Policy when:
• App functionality changes;
• microphone or audio-processing behavior changes;
• advertising technology changes;
• SDK behavior changes;
• billing functionality changes;
• Google Play or AdMob requirements change; or
• applicable privacy law changes.
The "Last Updated" date will be revised when appropriate.
Material changes will be reflected in the Privacy Policy available through the App and, where required, the official public Privacy Policy page.
