This site is part of a Canvas MOOC focused on Coalition Building. It can also be used as a stand-alone course.
There are different types of coalitions:
Created for one specific issue and will dissolve upon completion
Created for an overarching goal and will develop strategic plans to identify priorities that fit within that goal.
Charitable organizations (501(c)(3) so that they can pursue donations and grants and have more impact around advocacy and policy. Typically these will have paid staff for administrative duties.
They may have paid staff or be made up entirely of volunteers
They may be a mix of paid staff and volunteers
They may be a group of other organizations coming together to support a common goal and will send members from each group to represent their interests
