Your mission statement is a clear, concise, short statement defining who you are, what you intend to accomplish, and why you are doing it. It is a way to make sure your coalition stays focused and everyone has the same message about what you are doing. It should be a high-level broad statement introducing others to your coalition. It is usually the first thing a potential donor or grantor will review, so it needs to be accurate and strong.
Once you have developed your mission statement, it will help you define your goals and objectives.
Sample Mission Statements
The mission of the Healthy Schools Collaborative is to create a healthy and safe environment for students, teachers, and administrators by eliminating the use of toxic cleaning products in K-12 schools by December 2023.
The Neighborhood Health Watch Coalition supports community-based, low-cost health care options and partners with health care organizations to encourage opening affordable quality health care centers in underserved communities.
The mission of the Empathy First Coalition is to reduce the amount of incarcerated individuals with mental health issues by using mental health professionals as part of emergency response teams.
