Welcome to Team 8! This is a team with rising 9th graders (and one rising 8th grader) with the goal of understanding not only themselves, but also their community and the world around them! Below is the great teachers and their amazing students! Take the time to read each one through to get a little incite on each person.

Ms. Jasmine

I was born and raised in Orlando, Florida. I attend the best HBCU in South Florida, Florida Memorial University. I currently earning a degree in Elementary Education (K-6) This was my first time as a Breakthrough Teaching Fellow it was a wonderful experience, getting to know these amazing students, teaching fellows and staff.

Mr. Chad

Hello There! My name is Chad Miller! I was born and raised in Austin, Texas. I attend Angelo State University in San Angelo, Texas. I major in Communication with a Professional/Secondary Teaching Certificate. This is my third summer with Breakthrough Central Texas as a Teaching Fellow and also have been a BT student since the summer before my 7th Grade year. So I have had the honor to see this program on both sides of the coin and it has been a tremendous experience.

My name is Abril Laraa. I am from Houston, Texas. I attend Sewanee: The University of the South in Tennessee. Family is very important to me, I am a dog mom and I love pineapple on my pizza.
