Welcome to Team 3!

We have to say we had the B3ST group of rising 7th graders and dynamic Teaching Fellows! Even though we had our summer program over Zoom and never met in person, we built community and most importantly, saw everyone grow.

Take a few moments to take a look at our projects we accomplished over the summer over! We had 3 different projects about understanding who we are, our communities, and the world around us.

¡Tenemos que decir que teníamos el grupo M3JOR de alumnos de séptimo grado en ascenso y maestras dinámicas! Aunque tuvimos nuestro programa de verano sobre Zoom y nunca nos conocimos en persona, construimos una comunidad y, lo más importante, vimos a todos crecer.

Ms.Claire

Hi! My name is Claire and I am from Austin. I just graduated with two degress in English Literature and Educational Studies. I'm also a 3rd year returning teaching fellow here at Breakthrough. Our students have been working hard all summer in our virtual academy so check out what they have learned!

Ms.Lizette

Hi there! My name is Lizette, but I go by Liz. I'm from Austin. This is my first year as Teaching Fellow here at Breakthrough. I'm a first generation college student and I'm a rising Senior majoring in graphic design. Although it has been virtual this summer, I can say wholeheartedly that our students are the best!

Ms.Maxine

My name is Maxine and I'm from the Rio Grande Valley (South TX)! I'm a first-year Teaching Fellow and a first-year generation student. I recently graduated from university and I will be starting my Master's program in Fall 2020! Even though the summer program was online, we had great students, great TFs, and great times :)

Jocelyn

My name is Jocelyn, I was born in Austin, TX. Although, most of my family came from Mexico. I am now almost 13 years old and I am in the 7th grade.

Alonso

Hi, my name is Javier Alonso, but I like to be called by my middle name, Alonso. I was born in 2008 and I am 12 years old.

Carlos

My name is Carlos, I’m 12 and going into 7th grade this coming school year. At school, I participate in a program called Breakthrough. Breakthrough helps through college and makes sure you’re doing ok.

Yasmin

Hi, my name is Yasmin! My favorite color is blue and I have two siblings. We have 2 dogs and a turtle! I like watching anime, drawing, and listening to music. I consider myself more of an introvert.

Isabella

Hi, I'm Isabella! I am 11 years old and I go to middle school. I am going to seventh grade! My mom is from Mexico and my dad was born here but raised by Mexican parents. I would like to be a lawyer when I grow up, but backup job would be to work as a vet for animals.

Agustin

Hi! My name is Agustin and I am a middle schooler. I have been a Breakthrough student for two years. They help us with our school work and help us get ready for college. When I am not working hard on my homework, I enjoying being with my family and friends.

Jose

My name is Jose and I was born in the U.S. Although my parents were born in Mexico which is why I celebrate the Mexican culture. My culture brings many surprises!I am grateful for all that my parents have done for me.

Sydney

My name is Sydney! I’m twelve years old and I’m going to the seventh grade. My favorite colors are aqua and purple. I also love fashion and TikTok.

Alexis

Hi! I'm Alexis and I am in middle school. I am going into 7th grade and have been a part of the Breakthrough program for 2 years now. I love playing softball and being with my family. They are always there to support me and all the hard work I do!

Maximo

Hi, my name is Maximo! I can be shy at first, but once you get to know me and I'm comfortable, I can be talkative. I'm a Cancer and care a lot about my friends and family. I love social media, anime, memes, and my dog, Lola!

Jackelyn

My name is Jackelyn, I live in Bastrop, Texas. I’m going into 7th grade, I’m 12 years old. I’m sometimes shy, but I can be fun. Check out the work that I have done with Breakthrough this summer!

Deni

Hello, my name is Denisse, but I like to be called Deni! I like watching and drawing anime. I'm a rising 7th grader and I like being in Breakthrough. Take a look at my projects from this summer!
