The Training Opportunities Program (TOP) is designed to support schools' efforts in guiding students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) through work-based learning experiences that will facilitate their achievement of measurable postsecondary goals. Through a coordinated set of activities and related instruction, students are provided with opportunities to develop and master competencies related to transferrable work and life skills.
Training Opportunities include Career-Focused Research Projects, School-Based Enterprises, Virtual Job Shadowing and Virtual Internships with TCAC, Schools and Industry Partners.
Student Must:
Have an Individualized Education Program (IEP)
Be enrolled in a NYC public high school and be at least 14 years of age
Demonstrate an interest in participating in a work-based learning program
Be eligible to work in the United States and/or have a social security card
