SYEP is a program run by the Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD) and gives youth the opportunity to work and earn money for a six-week period between July and August. All students are encouraged to apply for this opportunity; however, ONLY students with an Individualized Education Program (IEP) or a 504 Plan are eligible to apply for SYEP through the Transition and College Access Centers (TCACs).
Who is eligible to apply with TCAC?
Be 14 to 21 years of age
Enrolled in and attending a New York City Public School (NYCPS)
Have a current Individualized Education Program (IEP) or 504 Plan
Reside in one of the five boroughs of New York City (The Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens, or Staten Island
Be legally authorized to work in the United States
