Pre-ETS is a series of four deliverable pre-employment and transition services for eligible students with disabilities as they prepare for life after high school. Pre-ETS focuses on services that will support students in developing independent living and career readiness skills through a variety of experiences including:
Job Exploration – provides students with counseling related to career options after high school
Counseling on Post‐Secondary Options – provides students with counseling related to education options after high school
Workplace Readiness Training – enhances career exploration and develops soft skills
Instruction in Self-Advocacy – prepares students for disability disclosure so they can access/benefit from reasonable accommodations, community-based services, etc.
Who is Eligible?
NYC Public Schools students with an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) or 504 plan (between the ages of 14-21), and who are "Potentially Eligible" for Vocational Rehabilitation services but currently receiving services from ACCES-VR.
Email completed application to Brooklyn Transition and College Access Center at bklyntcac@schools.nyc.gov. All Pre-ETS application must have a handwritten signature, any must be signed by a parent or legal guardian if the student is under the age of 18.
Pre-ETS will be delivered virtually after school, between 4 pm and 8 pm, depending on students’ availability. Below is an overview of the topics and hours.
