My name is Brooke Mosher, and I was born and raised in Ellicott City, Maryland, which is right outside of Baltimore. Throughout my life, I have always had a passion for integrating my writing skills with content creation.
It started when I was a child, creating stories with my dolls and figurines. Over time, that passion grew into storytelling through journalism. However, when the pandemic hit, I began exploring more creative outlets. I experimented with fashion, developed my own sense of style, and dabbled in graphic design.
Once school returned to normal, I was offered a position in high school to use Adobe InDesign to lay out my school’s paper. I took the opportunity and ran with it—this was only the beginning of my design journey. In college, I declared a major in journalism and a minor in graphic design, but I still felt like something was missing. I had always loved thrifting and fashion, and when I discovered my university had a fashion merchandising program, I added it as a minor.
At High Point, I became the social media manager for Thrift Point, a sustainability club. This led me to document my visits to vintage markets and thrift stores, sparking an interest in video editing for Instagram Reels using Premiere Pro. I had the privilege of learning editing programs in my Media Productions class during my freshman year, and these skills helped grow the club’s engagement and membership.
Alongside while being at college, I officially work for the University as a Fashion Merchandising Student Assitant. I manage and upload posts to the Instagram account to promote the major in order to gain more students into the program whether that be a minor or a even a major!
Outside of my role as a social media manager at college, I spent this summer interning with two incredible organizations: H&H Higher Education Services and The Femmage Zine.
At H&H, I joined their Social Media Support Team which entailed managing their Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn accounts. It was an honor to contribute to their mission of making higher education accessible for all—regardless of financial or socioeconomic background.
Alongside this, I returned to one of my first creative passions: writing. I was selected as a music journalism intern with The Femmage Zine, a publication committed to amplifying marginalized voices and celebrating bold, boundary-pushing perspectives. Their mission—to create an inclusive space for storytelling and self-expression—deeply resonates with me, and I was thrilled to be part of this!
Beyond writing and content creation, I also have experience in the interior design field. I’ve worked with Gabby and Summer Classics for two seasons—first as a furniture sales representative in the spring of 2024 and later as a badge scanner during the fall season. I look forward to contributing again at this market this year.
With a diverse skill set in editorial design, social media management, and visual storytelling, I hope to pursue a career in editorial design or as a social media manager for a fashion company!
