My first draft of my research proposal is admittedly rough. The initial draft was due a week prior to the final draft, so we were required to submit this version and potentially provide feedback to our peers for extra credit. I didn't receive any feedback from my fellow ENC1102 students, but I did attend a research proposal conference with Professor Cano Diaz where she provided me with some very constructive critiques of my first draft and how to improve them, namely fixing my annotated bibliography section and some formatting errors.
The main difference I made between my initial draft and my final draft is changing one of my sources that I included in the annotated bibliography section of the assignment. When I was conceiving my first draft, that part of the research proposal was the one I completed earliest. I came to realize after I finished fleshing out my proposal and received feedback that one of my sources didn't fit the topic I intended on researching. I went back to the drawing board and found a much more fitting source - the journal article “Will Smith’s Acceptance Speech at the 94th Academy Awards; Seeking Justification with Pathos and Ethos Appeal.” by Andita Purnama - and submitted it.
