Northfield Arts Forum (NAF) curates interactive arts activities that meet fundamental community needs. Their mission with Raising Black Voices is to amplify the voices of Black creatives and producers in the South Birmingham community and beyond.
Northfield Arts Forum (NAF) curates interactive arts activities that meet fundamental community needs. Their mission with Raising Black Voices is to amplify the voices of Black creatives and producers in the South Birmingham community and beyond.
In late 2023, Raising Black Voices reached out to us to collaborate on AMPLIFY: an afternoon of free programming for Black History Month in Northfield. We were honoured to be able to help co-organise and support this event alongside Project Lead Ashley Wilson, and the Northfield Arts Forum team.
In late 2023, Raising Black Voices reached out to us to collaborate on AMPLIFY: an afternoon of free programming for Black History Month in Northfield. We were honoured to be able to help co-organise and support this event alongside Project Lead Ashley Wilson, and the Northfield Arts Forum team.
For AMPLIFY, we placed a spotlight on Black creatives using colouring sheets and word searches; info posters with QR codes available on the wall; arts and crafts workshops led by Brummie creatives; and a selection of relevant books available on site.

BRMTWN, Raising Black Voices, Northfield Arts Forum, and the Northfield community created a constellation tapestry – one of RBV's first artefacts – which you can see at the bottom of the page.
