In 2022 we collaborated with Johannesburg-based filmmaker Thenjiwe Niki Nkosi on a community-oriented micro film festival, showcasing at five venues across Birmingham, and featuring her short film & commentary The Same Track. This festival was coordinated alongside Nkosi's wider project with Eastside Projects: Equations for a Body at Rest.
Together, these films explored and critiqued Birmingham's legacy – both from a local standpoint (the lack of preservation of cultural venues), and an international one (considering what it means to host the formerly coined "Commonwealth Games" in contemporary times). We also featured panels to expand on these themes.
