My approach to recording this poem was to deliver a lighthearted, quirky and playful performance.  I wanted the tone to be positive and yet, a little all over the place, from sounding sarcastic to cheerful to thoughtful.  The poem is witty and humorous, so I tried to sound like I was making a bit of fun at sonnets in general, which I believe the poem is mocking.  I dramatised certain words to emphasise the teasing especially on line six and line eleven; "bongos must be played," & "where longing and heartache will find an end."  I was surprised by how difficult it was to animate the poem vocally, so that the poet's meaning came out true and clear.
