I student taught at Warren Central High School during fall 2019, and my cooperating teacher was Nann Harwood who taught 10th-grade English and Dual Credit English through SKYCTC.
In my two solo weeks, students read three different texts (and watched one TED Talk), and began writing analyses for each text. The papers are displayed for students to remember and to create pride in what they have accomplished. After my unit, we began a Literacy Design Collaborative unit in which students will read and rhetorically analyze an excerpt from Elie Wiesel's Night. Then, they will be bale to take their analyses and combine them into synthesis essays.
