Workscapes is an art exhibition, curated by I-Os and for I-Os. Workscapes debuted at the SIOP 2025 annual conference in Denver, CO as the conference's first-ever art exhibition.
Workscapes was created with 5 key purposes in mind:
To provide a dedicated space for rest and recovery amid the conference intensity,
To encourage participation in the SIOP conference beyond traditional sessions and diversify the attendee experience,
To celebrate the multidimensionality of I-Os and their often-hidden creative talents,
To spark new conversations and connections outside of the typical conference setting, and
To offer a tangible expression of "Gentle SIOP" (Cobb & Rauvola, 2024)
Workscapes 2.0 will make its appearance at SIOP 2026 in New Orleans, LA on May 1st, 2026 6:00pm-8:00pm CT.
The interest form for Workscapes 2.0 closed on March 20th. Please contact me (Brittany Ikner) with any questions at brit.ikner@gmail.com.

When is the latest I can opt in to participate in Workscapes 2.0?
The interest form will close on Friday, March 20th.
I am interested in exhibiting art at Workscapes 2.0. How do I get my art to the SIOP Conference?
Artists are responsible for transporting their art to and from the conference. Unfortunately, Workscapes is unable to provide financial support for any associated transporting costs. In the case that artists cannot transport their art, they are encouraged to submit their work digitally, to be projected on a screen the day of the event.
Does my art have to be work-related or I-O-related?
No - Workscapes welcomes all art. The purpose of the event is to provide I-Os with a creative space, but not necessarily to curate work-related exhibits. Some artists have created art with their I-O work/work experiences in mind, while others have exhibited art completely unrelated to their work or work identity (see pictures above from last year's event).
Can I sell my artwork at Workscapes?
Currently, Workscapes is strictly an exhibition with no commercialization aspect of the event. Artists can increase visibility of themselves and their work by exhibiting their artwork at Workscapes.
I am interested in volunteering for Workscapes, but I am not available the entire time (5-7pm). Can I still be involved?
Absolutely! Volunteers can help with the event at any point, starting with preparation and troubleshooting the day before and day of event.
