Professional Practice
One necessity of the I-O profession is the ability to clearly and effectively communicate. My graduate-level coursework has allowed me to strengthen the skill of communicating technical information effectively to non-technical audiences. I've developed the ability to translate scientific findings into layman terms to help organizations navigate workplace issues with the necessary sensitivity and knowledge.
In UTC's Performance Measurement course, my colleagues and I provided consultative services to Zaxby's LLC to optimize their selection process for the IT department. We first conducted structured interviews with subject matter experts to clarify the essential knowledge, skills, and abilities of each role in the department. After, we revised a set of 20 job descriptions and provided long-term recommendations regarding how to attract, select, and retain employees within IT.
In November 2021, I revised a set of 400+ job descriptions across organizational levels to optimize job descriptions’ accessibility, inclusivity in language, and alignment of the job’s required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
