In my Information systems for management 360-556 course I had to get certified in two online courses. The courses I chose were Phython 101 for Data Science and Big Data 101.
In my Information systems for management 360-556 course I had to get certified in two online courses. The courses I chose were Phython 101 for Data Science and Big Data 101.
The Python course was a beginner course that taught me the basics of coding and how to tell the difference between simple codes, as well as being able to detect errors. The Big Data course taught me about the technology that is utilized and how businesses turn that data into information that will help the company. As we dive further into a heavily technological driven world, it is important to develop new skills. I was able to devote 16 hours of my time to earn these certificates and did further research after to see how I can get certified at an intermediate level. I believe in sharpening skills and while the beginning classes were not difficult for me they were brand new, so it showed me that there are plenty of things to learn about computers that I am capable of doing, if I start taking advantage of these tools.

Another significant assignment I did in my Information Systems for Management course was an Excel partner project. My team member and I were responsible for extracting data and forming tables, graphs, as well as creating pivot charts by categorizing the data. After separating the data into 4 pivot charts we were able to answer a series of questions regarding the data. This was my first time doing a project on excel, so I was very proud of myself for being able to figure out how to properly construct a pivot table. As a team, my partner and I did great, receiving 51/50 points on the project. After completing this assignment, I decided that I wanted to become even better at using excel. I have seen that many jobs are starting to make it a requirement for people know how to use excel. I plan on taking a course this summer to earn an excel certificate.

The purpose of the presentation was to give ideas to the College of Business at Bowie State University to help them redesign the interior of the building. The successful figures mentioned in the PowerPoint are would be displayed in portraits or their quotes would be placed on banners to inspire business students. I presented ideas to the dean of the College of Business who expressed interest in utilizing some of the names mentioned in the presentation.
