Philosophy

Each child is an individual, meaning that each child learns in different ways. Children's needs are met as teachers individualize learning plans, helping to include all of the children within the program, maximizing their learning while following the school's curriculum. Moreover, children learn best when their interests are included within their learning and when they have opportunities to lead their learning experiences. While leading their own learning, the children within the organization will be encouraged to engage in numerous activities throughout the day, enhancing their cognitive, language, physical, and social-emotional development. Furthermore, each family is welcomed into a positive, safe, and nurturing environment.

While meeting children's needs, teachers are supported in the classroom through coaching, frequent training, and professional development opportunities. Furthermore, BFLA drives to build community by building relationships with staff and families, encouraging active engagement within relationship building activities.
