One of the rare "one day and one trip to Home Depot" projects!
Our subfloor is made up of 2" furring strips, 1.5" foam board insulation (R-value 7.5), and 0.5" OSB
The steps were pretty easy and we were suprised by how quickly we got work done.
Measure and cut the 2" furing strips and glue down to bare metal floor

Cut 1.5" foam board insulation to fit in the spaces between the furring strip frames and glue down to metal floor

Cover the foam board and furring strips with OSB. Glue down the OSB onto the foam board and screw down onto to furring strips.

Use foil tape to cover every seam. The foil tape provides a vapor barrier and thermal barrier.

One day and done! Just kidding, the next day we came back and added more foam board insulation in the gaps between the floor and the windows. And then we painted the OSB with 2 coats of a sealant (KILZ 2)
