Ana's parents came out to help put up the framing boards. It was super nice to have help on this long day of work!
We decided to use 3/4" thick framing strips and spaced them out the way they made sense to us.
Weput up 3 boards on the walls - one on the bottom, one right below the windows, and one in the middle. This made sense to us for future wall attachment and good support for the kitchen cabinets and couch.
We then added framing boards to the ceiling. One directly above the windows, some along the middle, and several along the most severe part of the ceiling curve.
It was really helpful ahving extra sets of hands to hold up boards above our heads and drill directly upward.
Korra is super helpful when driling staight up.
Plus an extra run to Home Depot for some mending plates. Most projects always require one more trip to Home Depot. I guess it's a good thing Home Depot is less than a mile from our work site.
For wayyyyy less money than we would ahve spent on a DIY kit (which we probably would've used incorrectly, based on all the internet horror stories).
Brie is all insulated and cozy now! Here's to cooler summers and cozier winters!
