Designed and prototyped a custom assistive device to enable a user with paralysis to independently reward their service dog, improving the user-animal bond.
The Challenge: The user required a dispenser that was easily accessible without restricting wheelchair armrest mobility and that prevented accidental spills.
The Solution:
Technical Implementation: Modeled the assembly in SolidWorks and fabricated the prototype using 3D printing and laser cutting.
Outcome: Delivered a functional, easy-to-clean system that successfully attached to the wheelchair, allowing the user to dispense treats with minimal physical exertion.
