Brett Cavanaugh's Portfolio

I'm a Mechanical Engineering senior at Tufts University with a minor in Engineering Management and a strong focus on aerospace. This past spring, I studied abroad at the University of Sydney, expanding my global engineering perspective, and this summer I interned as an Engineering Intern with the United States Air Force at Hanscom AFB, where I applied data analysis and Excel modeling to forecast demand for spare parts for long-lead components. 

My technical foundation is built on hands-on manufacturing and design. I'm proficient in CAD software (SolidWorks, Onshape) and experienced machining parts on heavy machinery, including lathes and Bridgeport mills.

I'm deeply passionate about aerospace. As President of both Tufts Students for Exploration and Development of Space (SEDS) and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), I've led club operations, managed budgets, and organized a 20-member team trip to the International Rocket Engineering Competition (IREC) in Texas. I contributed to the design, construction, and launch of our 70-lb, 11-foot competition rocket, and hold Level 1 and Level 2 certifications from the National Association of Rocketry (NAR).

I'm looking to bring my hands-on engineering experience and passion for aerospace to a hardware engineering role where I can contribute to real-world product development.
