1. Mario

• Mario is based on his generic promotional art, the jump man pose.

2. Donkey Kong

• DK's use of a boombox is in reference to the opening of Donkey Kong Country.

3. Link

• This Link (The Hero of the Wild) has just woken up, similar to the Adult link in Smash 64 (the Hero of Time).

4. Samus

• This is based on the Super Metroid Manga panel shown below. Also it's a funny Pose.

 4e. Dark Samus

• I just googled My Chemical Romance Album Covers and picked the easiest to draw.

 5. Yoshi

• I made him torso tall.

 6. Kirby

• I just wanted to make him cute.

 7. Fox

• Do A Barrel Roll is funnier than how broken he was in Melee and I will die on that hill.

 8. Pikachu

• I liked it better when he was chubby.

 9. Luigi

• Did we ever find out why his Final Smash in Brawl was negative zone?

10. Ness

• I drew him while watching a video on the EarthBound Halloween Hack. Also iconic Mother 2 pose.

11. Captain Falcon

• I wanted him to look cool, simple as that.

12. Jigglypuff

• Watch the Pokémon anime. The eyes are bigger than I usually do in this style.

Added more characters from Smash Melee.

• Peach was done first.

• Daisy's Club has Waluigi's face dented into it.

• Bowser was made more "Dad" for when we get to Chrom.

• Ice Climbers is based on 2 kids in a trench coat.

• Pichu fucking died.

• Shiek and Zelda have no trivia.

• Dr. Mario may have faked his medical license.

• Falco's pose was chosen to be goofy in reference to his "Hands off my-" "CAW!!" thing you can do in ultimate.

In hindsight I make Phen very grumpy whenever I write him.

Given Bluky never talks, I like to think both "Block-Bluky" and "Bluky-Chan" are mute.

Originally the ending was more wholesome, but then the idea of Bluky painting over Phen's house was funnier.

Doodled some more alien species.

Religious Chainsaw holding Shrimp was a dumb idea but it wasn't meant to be anything deep anyway.

It turns out-

Bug finding sucks!

The art has a decent amount of callbacks:

• Most of the Phen Quest bosses are featured in some way.

  • Sam was moved off the tree and put on wrapping paper because I don't like him, also because I wanted PQ's World 2 Secret Boss!

• Bluky World 2's Boss is referenced on the "Lobster" gift tag.

• In-Development Game by the same Developer, Dream Jet Pack, is referenced as a game.

• Cat Boy Simu. is a nod to the Cat Boy Phen Joke.

• The EDM Shirt was a nod to a drawing I did earlier in the year for Etherial Dev of Pac-Man wearing a similar shirt.

  • The Colors of the letters (Red, Green and Blue) are a reference to the color model RGB.

• Bluky-Prime is on the wrapping of 1 gift.

• Sarah is an alcholic, this isn't a nod to anything but he didn't tell me to remove it (quite the opposite really), so it's canon now.

• Bluky is green in this one like in the original art of her.

  • Apparently this is no longer the case.

• An attempt at foreshadowing was fucked up... I wasn't told a guy's name until I playtested it so it's kinda void now

• Cyborg was based on a combination of his Cartoon and comic design.

• Robin was based on a previous Bat-Man doodle.

  • This Robin is Dick Grayson.

• Beast Boy was designed to look more unkempt.

• Starfire is a mixture of her first comic design and the one from the 2003 show. Her hair is meant to be a mixture of regular and fire hair.

• Raven is entirely the 2003 show.

Originally just a doodle of silver age Bat-Man, Spawn came in after a long conversation about the Spawn film vs the Spawn show.

WoodMan was specifically requested to be Hot.
