I like to think of my classroom as an ever-evolving object and not just a stationary set-in-stone layout. My desk is on wheels so that way when we are doing lessons I could move the desk to the corner by the board and the students could come to sit in that open area in the middle of all the desks. I felt like this was more engaging than the students just sitting at their desks all day, I thought it worked best to have the desks in tables of four that create a half-circle, this way from my desk I can see all students and there aren't rows and rows of desks that limit the visibility of students. I also took into consideration certain students' needs and what location in the classroom would best serve them.

This "Wall Space" (The photo is of a door but can easily be adapted into a bulletin board) allows each student to show their personality, they get the opportunity to put things about themselves. Show the students that although we are each different we can come together to make something amazing.

This wall space could be used for multiple different ways with just minor tweaks. One way it could be used is to highlight exceptional work done by students to allow them to know that their hard work is appreciated. A downside to this is that it can create a fixed mindset so use of it in this form should be cautious and considerate. Another way for this to be used is instead of student spotlight it could be used as a major theme spotlight. So every new unit new themes are put up that are the overall mission of the unit. This way students can know what to expect and/or use it as a guide while they work throughout the unit. https://i.pinimg.com/564x/36/35/5b/36355bafbc856dd532f8f3f628eb5fa4.jpg
Classroom Management
This board is used as a calm down corner, students who may be experiencing big emotions or need some time to themselves can walk over to the board and choose an activity to do to calm themselves. The teacher can set a timer for students and check in on them to see how they are doing and if additional support is needed.
