On Nov. 23rd, 1997 Brent & Woofy held a release party to celebrate the latest recording from the duo. The Pleasant Valley Hall in Nanaimo didn’t know what hit it when family after family filed into the room, ‘til it could hold no more! There were a few disappointed fans who couldn’t even enter the premises because there was no more room.

Brent performed a selection of songs from his new album, "It’s Christmas Time!", featuring a mix of traditional and original Christmas songs. Joining him on stage were some members of the Nanaimo Youth Choir (with Music Director - Marian Smith, Choir Members - Michael Chapman, Alex Brennan, Brittany DaCosta, Jenna Skipsey, Meredith Miller, Brittany Felberg, Pamela Thomson, and Kimberley Beerman).

"It was great experience working with the kids" said Brent. "We had a lot of fun!"

The packed hall of eager fans sang and danced along with Brent. Close to the end of the show they produced a deafening call of…"Here Woofy!", which brought the mutt out to laugh, joke and sing with the audience.

"I was so pleased to see all those people. It was a feeling of amazement!" exclaimed an excited Brent after the performance. "It’s nice to know there are so many Brent & Woofy fans!

After the show refreshments included cookies and juice, coffee and hot chocolate, which quickly disappeared. Brent stayed to sign photographs and give out hugs to all the children who wanted them for an hour after the concert had concluded. It was then he had an opportunity to talk with some of the families, who had come from as far away as Port Alberni and Victoria, BC, just to attend his concert.

The concerts success can also be attributed to the many volunteers, both friends and family, who gave of their time to help with this free event. From the baking of cookies, to the distribution of programs at the door, to the sound engineering, to the setting up and cleaning up of the hall, it was all appreciated and the event could not have happened without them.

Thanks to all who helped out. Everything fell together perfectly! It was a great day!" said the tired, but happy Brent!!

With the concert behind them, Brent & Woofy have several performance days for the busy holiday season. They’re headed of to Port Alberni to appear on that town’s telethon, then more TV as they perform songs from the new album for Nanaimo’s “The Sounds of Christmas” to be recorded at St. Andrews on Dec 10th. The kids from the choir will join Brent there. Lots and lots of Christmas parties and a special appearance at Country Club Mall on Dec. 20th.

Brent has been shipping tapes to many places on the globe.
