I grew up in Minnesota and came out East to attend college, where I majored in zoology. That interest led me to UVM medical school, where I obtained a medical degree, then did a four-year residency to become a pathologist. I worked for over 30 years at the UVM Medical Center, specializing in autopsy, pediatric/perinatal pathology and congenital heart disease. Following retirement from that career in 2016, I have been taking geology courses, playing my flute, reading biographies, especially those of the British Empire, hiking and playing pickleball. I also groom for a polo player in the Sugarbush Polo Club. My favorite author of nonfiction is Winston Churchill, and of fiction, William Styron. I live in Huntington, on a slope that has many erratics and north trending phyllitic outcrops. Why I am taking this course may be found in my video.
