Chapter 7
Abandoned Hideout
You enter the hideout with the key you acquired from Alan Tronic. You walk in, prepared for anything. "I'm super nervous. Alan Tronic was a tough guy. Nothing scared him" friend 1 says. "Well... he's paying us" you reply, turning on the ghost reader. You walk around, scanning all of the rooms. The hideout is relatively small. You check his living space, living quarters, game room, locker room, armory, and closets. There's two more rooms though. The headmaster office and basement. You split off from the group, checking the basement. As soon as you go down, a window smashes. Then, frantic breathing from friend 2 on the other end of the walkie talkie. "This ghost is very powerful and strong. I think it's time we run and dip" friend 2 says. You are quiet, not knowing what to say. You then hear violent screaming from the walkie talkie, but it isn't friend 1's voice.
"Friend 1? Are you ok?" you ask through the walkie talkie. "What's going on?" friend 2 asks. Nothing from friend 1. "Wait, didn't the ghost target friend 1 at the movie theater too?" friend 2 asks. "I- I don't know. I don't have a good feeling about this though" you tell friend 2. While in the basement, you see there are multiple doors. You have to check them all. You walk down the hall, going in each door at a time. Another armory, vault, living quarters, and board room. Where can the room be? Then, you see something on the wall. A door. It's open. You also see a face staring at you through the door. It's smiling right at you.
"Guys, the ghost is down here with me. It's smiling" you say through the walkie. "Oh great" friend 2 says. "I also found friend 1. He's passed out wearing the "spectacles" friend 2 continues. "Do you think he saw orbs? Or a ghost?" you ask. "Not sure, but I'm going outside to get friend 1 out of here" friend 2 replies. "Meet me in the back" friend 2 adds. You walk over to the entrance and friend 2 gives you their equipment. "Are you coming back to help or no?" you ask. "I'll help you later" friend 2 says. You both then split off, headed for the car.
"This can't be good" you say to yourself. You open the door, and sure enough, the reader starts beeping. You found the room. Looks to be a bomb shelter. You place down the book and check the temperature. Not freezing. You turn on the spirit box. "Is anyone there?" you ask. "Where are you?" A voice replies "right behind you". At the same time, the reader goes off with 5 lights. You put it in and you see three options. A jinn, upyr, and oni. All of the options are all difficult to go against. Whether this be a ghost that is strong, threatened to more attacks, or wanted to attack more and more. Checking the last evidence pieces, you see them being freezing temperatures, orbs, and writing. You put on the spectacles and don't see anything yet. You're also starting to hyperventilate. The goggles make you feel light headed. Your vision is blurring. Before you black out, you see writing in the book. You add and it see the type of ghost. An oni. You see a figure approaching you. Your vision is fading, as everything goes dark.
"You there? Hello?! Friend 3?!" you hear a voice say. You open your eyes slowly to see friends 2 and 1. "What's going on?" you ask. "There was a hunt" friend 2 says. "Two of them" friend 1 adds. "I passed out on one and you on the other". "Oh. Well let's leave" you say, stumbling up. All three of you walk to the door. You exit the hideout and get in the car. "Was that worth the 700 bucks?" friend 2 asks. "Definitely" says friend 1. "I'm not really sure. What I know is we are super close to getting the last few bucks to buy what we wanted" you say. "Just three more places". "THREE?!" friend 2 says. "I thought we were done". "We aren't done until we make enough money" you say. "How much we got?" friend 1 asks. "$5,000" you say. "Only a thousand more and we get what we want". "So where are we going now" friend 2 asks. "First, the police station". you say starting up the car. It's quite ironic that the police station is right near the hideout, considering the police have still not captured Alan or found his base.
Chapter 8
The Emergency
You arrive at the station. This isn't very intimidating. It's a pretty small station, and you think you can easily complete it. How little you know yet... You continue inside the abandoned station. This was an old built police station, dating back over 15 years. It was abandoned within the past 3 years, due to the ghost lurking in the station. While you are in the main room with friends 1 and 2 when you hear a loud crash.
"What was that?" friend 1 asks. "I don't know" friend 2 says. "Let's split off now. Quickly" you say to the group. You all descend to different areas, the basement, first floor, and second floor. Friend 2 goes to the first floor, friend 1 goes to the basement, and you go to the second floor. On the second floor, you see just an armory, meeting rooms, announcement room, a room for current and unsolved cases, a resting area, and two bathrooms. You turn on the reader, and start searching the rooms. You only get into the resting area, when a chair is thrown at you. That's all you remember before blacking out.
You wake up quickly, and see that you were only out for 5 minutes. "Friend 3? Are you there?" you hear voices from the walkie talkie. It's friends 1 and 2. "Hello?" you ask. "Where are you? We haven't found the room" friend 2 and 1 say together. "A chair was thrown at me. I'll look for the room" you say. You check the rooms one at a time. The bathrooms, meeting rooms, announcement room, and armory. You open the door to the unsolved cases room and the reader goes off. You have found the room and notify the group. Once they come up, you test out the equipment. Friend 1 puts on the goggles, friend 2 puts down the book and checks the temperature, and you check the spirit system. You ask the ghost a question. "Where are you?". There is no response, but the reader goes off violently. Level 5. A file is thrown in the middle of the group that reads "Ghost Hunting this Station".
You all look at each other, and pick up the file. It reads that a ghost has been haunting the station for a while now and is reported to be related to the ghost incidents with Alan Tronic. Creepy, but your attention shifts to the book. You check your information and see the options. Banshee, phantom, revenant, upyr, shade, oni, and jinn. There is now writing in the book for evidence, and the sound of glass breaking. Friend 1 calls out "Orbs!" You put in both evidence pieces to see the ghost. An Upyr. "What is that?" you ask. According to history, the upyr is a vampire-like creature originating in German folklore. The more the ghost hunts, the more dangerous it gets. You all look at each other at the same time. All you need to do is say the word. You all do. Run.
You run down stairs, and outside to the car. "Whew. We did it" you say. Only two more places left to go. Both being very famous. The two most famous in fact. The second most famous one is up first. The abandoned facility.
Chapter 9
Research Facility
You are driving to the facility. You don't know this place too well, but know its history. It was abandoned due to an experiment gone wrong. The experiment in question is still unknown, but is rumored to be dealing with ghosts and the super natural. You check all of the rooms as fast as you can, but the facility is huge. You stay with the group this time, wise to what to do. You check the first floor. At the end of a strange hall, you see a lonely door. You start walking over to it before friend 1 calls out "Don't go". "Not alone at least." "Why not?" you shoot back. "Something isn't right" friend 1 says. "I agree with friend 1. Something is behind that door" friend 2 calls out. They approach the door with you. You all look at each other. Everyone starts looking toward you. Everyone including the figure at the window.
"Uh guys? What is that?" you say, pointing to the window. Friend 1 and 2 look at the window. "That's the ghost" friend 2 says nervously. Friend 1 approaches the window. "There's nothing here" friend 1 calls back. You all meet at the window and see that friend 1 is right. "We saw the ghost move away though" you say to friend 1. "Let's look at the area around it". You all scan through the window, and see nothing. You start walking back to the door when friend 1 turns around. "Guys it's at the window again!" You and friend 2 turn around quickly and see the ghost walking away from the view. You all rush to the window and look where the ghost would be. There's nothing and no one there. You are all discussing how this is possible, when you realize what is really going on.
"Guys. You know in windows they show reflections?" you say to the group. "Yeah so?" friend 2 says. Friend 1 is quiet, but you can see his face turn white. The ghost was near the door the whole time. "That has to be the favorite room" you say to the group. You proceed to the door, and try to open it.
What? "Why won't it open?" is the thought everyone is thinking right now. The door shouldn't have a lock, as it's a facility, and all rooms need a quick escape if the experiment goes wrong. Friend 1 steps up and pulls the door open. You all look at each other. "Was the ghost holding the door?" friend 2 asks. "I don't know, but let's hurry and finish this. You all step into the room. Sure enough, the reader goes off.
The room seems to be an experiment room that had gone through it. There were broken beakers, a shattered window, stains on the wall and floors, and random things here and there. "What happened here?" you ask the group. "I remember reading about this" friend 1 says. "It was experiment 724. I think they were testing a liquid mixture that had a horrible chemical reaction. This is also the room where the ghost test happened". Replying to friend 1, friend 2 also recalls hearing about that event. You slightly know it because friend 1 has always wanted to explore this place. The group continues on, setting up and testing everything. Friend 1 has the goggles, friend 2 puts the book down, and you test the spirit system. "Is anyone there?" you ask out. A voice then replies "I'm at the window". Friend 1 calls out "Orbs! By the window!". Friend 1 takes off the goggles and looks at the window. You all do. You see the ghost yet again. This time, you also see yourselves.
"Friend 2. Check the temperature. Now" friend says to friend 2. Friend 2 does, and tells everyone it's freezing. You open the book and check the ghost. A mare. "What's a mare?" friend 2 asks. You look at the description. Mares are common ghosts in foreign and rural areas. They are usually found at night, and attack during the night. You all look behind the table when you hear and see the figure approaching you.
"What is that thing?" you ask. "Don't know. All I know is we have to run" friend 1 says. You run, panicked, and all split up to hide. "Good luck guys" friend 1 calls out. You run into a closet in a lab room. "Where did you guys hide?" you ask over the walkie talkie. "I'm hiding in the bathroom" friend 1 says. In a panic, friend 2 says "I'm being chased down the hall. Where do I go?". Worried for friend 2, you and friend 1 get him to a spot. "I locked the door, but it won't hold the ghost off forever" friend 2 informs you. There is a violent banging at the door coming from friend 2's walkie talkie. It seems like the hunt is over when the banging is over. "Is it over?" you ask. "I think so" friend 2 says. You all agree to now run to the car. You all bust through what ever door you were in, and make a dash to the car. Once you're outside, you are all relieved. "Thank goodness" friend 1 says. "That was horrifying" friend 2 says. Laughing since you are now all safe, you mention the worst part. "We have one more stop" you say to them. You all get in the car and get ready for the final place. "Where's the last place we're going?" friend 1 and 2 ask. "The most haunted and well known mystery location" you say. "Well what is it?" friend 2 asks. "The McCallistar's mansion" you finally say. "Oh no" friend 2 says. "And I thought this couldn't get any worse" friend 1 says. You finally arrive to the mansion after driving a few miles. You all step out of the car and look at the mansion, amazed. This house was built in 1923 and abandoned in 1957. You have a strong feeling about this mansion. Stronger than the one in the hideout. It's not a good one. You may need to look for more evidence than just three pieces.
