Gabriel M. Ahlfeldt is Professor at Humboldt University, visiting professor at LSE, affiliate of CEPR, CESifo, and CEP, and editor of Regional Science and Urban Economics. His primary field is urban economics, but his research cuts across many fields such as environment, finance, labour, political economy, and real estate. 

Thilo Albers is Postdoc at Humboldt University and WID fellow. As an economic historian by training, his research covers many fields in economics  and uses both theoretical and empirical approaches.  

Jan David Bakker is an Assistant Professor at Bocconi University and a research associate at the Centre for Economic Performance and the Institute of Fiscal Studies. Prior to joining Bocconi, he was a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at University College London and obtained his PhD from the University of Oxford. His main research interests and publications are in the fields of international and urban economics. He has received several awards including the WTO Essay Award for Young Economists for his work on international trade and regional inequality.

Fabian Bald is a tenure-track Juniorprofessor ("Assistant Professor") for Regional and Urban Economics at the European University Viadrina. He works on topics  in the field of Regional and Urban Economics.


Rainald Borck is Professor of Economics at University of Potsdam. His main research area is urban and regional economics, but he is also interested in public economics, environmental and political economics. 

Kalle Kappner is a Postdoc at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich (LMU). He holds a PhD from Humboldt University and is a CESifo affiliate. His research is at the intersection of economic history, health and urban economics. 

Volker Nitsch is Professor of Economics at Technische Universität Darmstadt. His research interests include international trade and economic geography.
