BCAEd Students Join PASINAYA 2026: ACES Delegation Celebrates Filipino Arts and Culture
A total of 28 students from the Arts and Culture Education Society (ACES) of the Bachelor of Culture and Arts Education (BCAEd), College of Education participated in Pasinaya 2026, a major celebration of Filipino arts organized by the Cultural Center of the Philippines. The delegation consisted of 11 male and 17 female participants who gathered with enthusiasm as the program officially began. The event opened with a prayer and the singing of the national anthem, highlighting the importance of faith, patriotism, and cultural pride in artistic expression. During the welcoming remarks, a representative from the Cultural Center of the Philippines encouraged artists and audiences to embrace creativity, collaboration, and passion in presenting their talents.
Throughout the event, ACES members witnessed a series of performances that showcased the richness and diversity of Filipino culture. Participants also joined various workshops, including the “60-Minute Intro to Improv” held at the Manila Metropolitan Theater, where they engaged in interactive activities that developed confidence, creativity, and spontaneity. The students also visited the National Museum of Fine Arts, where they explored renowned Filipino artworks and learned about their historical and cultural significance. The experience provided meaningful learning opportunities for BCAEd students and strengthened their commitment to promoting Philippine arts and culture through education and creative practice.
PAGDAYAWAN 2026 Celebrates Filipino Arts and Culture at BPSU Balanga
The Arts and Culture Education Society (ACES) of the Bachelor of Culture and Arts Education (BCAEd), College of Education successfully conducted PAGDAYAWAN: Pagyamanin ang Sining at Kultura, a two-day cultural celebration held at the 2nd Floor Amphitheater, New COEd Building, and Student Center of Bataan Peninsula State University – Balanga Campus. Facilitated by the officers of ACES, the event aimed to enrich students’ appreciation of Filipino arts and culture through performances, workshops, competitions, and interactive artistic activities. A total of 60 participants attended the event across two days, consisting of 9 male and 21 female participants on Day 1, and 9 male and 21 female participants on Day 2, all representing the BCAEd program. The program began with a solemn opening ceremony featuring an audio-visual presentation that created a respectful and unified atmosphere for the celebration of arts and culture. This was followed by inspiring messages from several university leaders including Prof. Monina S. Romero, ACES Adviser; Dean Leandro Olubia, Dean of the College of Education; Prof. Sisenando Masangcap Jr., Campus Director; Dr. Laarni Canare, Director of the Center of Culture and Arts; Prof. Lawrence Balana of SASO; and Prof. Shemuel Serrano, Chairperson of the Center for Culture and Arts, who emphasized the importance of nurturing Filipino identity, creativity, and cultural heritage among students.
The celebration featured a variety of engaging activities including a Unity Dance Performance, symbolizing collaboration and pride among BCAEd students, followed by a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony that formally opened the National Arts Month celebration. Participants also enjoyed the Open House and Live Painting sessions, where students showcased their creativity in real time and allowed audiences to appreciate visual arts interactively. A highlight of the event was the “Becoming an Artist” Workshop, which provided insights into the artistic process, discipline, and opportunities in the creative field. The program also included the Paligsahan Proper and Awarding Ceremony, encouraging healthy competition and recognizing artistic excellence, along with performances presented by different ACES committees. The event concluded with a closing program where attendees expressed satisfaction with the activities and shared their enthusiasm to continue supporting future PAGDAYAWAN initiatives that celebrate Filipino arts and culture.
