Every year, Department of Botany organizes a Hands on training workshop in Plant Tissue Culture to train the undergraduate and Post graduate Students in different techniques in Plant Tissue culture. Students and Teachers from various colleges around Mumbai participate in the workshop.

The Department of Botany carries out research in Algal biotechnolgy. In the workshops organised by the Department the participants learn different techniques like culturing, biomass enhancement, Extraction and application of active constituents like pigments and polysaccharides

This workshop helps the students to have a hands on experience in handling cell cultures and other ascepts of ATC.

The workshop on Mushroom cultivation is organised in order to develop an entrepreunal skills in students. In this workshop apart from the culturing techniques of mushroom cultivation, students were also trained in uses of mushroom in food industries, pharmaceuticals and their maket values.

In this workshop the students were given training on the extraction of essential oils from different plant parts by making use of various essential oil extraction techniques, application of these oils in different formulations and the knowledge about the market value of the oils
