The department organizes short and long excursions every year to various biodiversity rich places like Sanjay Gandhi National Park, Khandala, Matheran, Mahabaleshwar, Amboli, Pachmarhi, Dapoli, Karnala Sanctuary, Castlerock etc. to study the plant diversity and Taxonomy. Many rare, endangered, endemic and medicinal plants are also observed during such visits. Excursions also includes visits to Industries, Research Institutions and Laboratories.
