Forces for Warmth (Delivered by National Energy Action)
The project, specifically designed to support serving and ex serving personnel, has been developed to increase the awareness and understanding of fuel poverty and its impacts to staff and volunteers, who help support householders, via a half day or full day training session delivered by a member of NEA’s award winning training team.
Once training has been delivered staff will have on-going support from a regional member of NEA’s project delivery team who will help with complex fuel debt and energy cases. Those involved with the project will also be able to refer householders to the Forces for Warmth Crisis Fund which will help with financial top-ups for emergency energy measures and emergency credit for prepayment meters.
Heating, Energy, Warmth
Energy companies have been tasked with providing qualifying domestic energy customers with a range of measures designed to make their homes warmer and healthier, and help to keep energy bills as low as possible. This could include a free boiler grant to cover some or all of the cost to repair or replace a boiler with a new A-rated energy saving model. Grants are also available to install cavity wall insulation or loft insulation or to install new electric storage heaters. Please note that funding for new gas boilers is now very limited and applications may not be successful.
You can still benefit from free grants for LPG boilers, oil boilers, electric storage heaters and insulation.
Funding is available to improve the insulation in the hardest to treat properties. To be eligible for an external insulation grant from ECO, at least 50% of the external walls will need to be insulated.
