I am not accepting any vision insurance at this office. Here is some useful information if you are not in a rush to get your exam and you have benefits that you want to take advantage of:
This is the most common vision plan. Here is a link to find offices that take this plan for the exam and/or glasses benefits: https://www.vsp.com/eye-doctor
This is the next most common plan. This insurance works best with LensCrafters and Target Optical. Here is a link to find offices that take this plan for the exam and/or glasses benefits: https://eyedoclocator.eyemedvisioncare.com/member/en
This plan is commonly associated with Unitedhealth Care. Here is a link to find offices that take this plan for the exam and/or glasses benefits: https://www.myspectera.com/Public/PreloginSearchCustom#/search
This plan is less common. Here is a link to find offices that take this plan for the exam and/or glasses benefits: https://superiorvision.com/locator/
This plan is the most common Medi-Cal plan. This plan works for either medical eye problems like glaucoma, cataracts, or dry eyes as well as routine vision coverage for eyeglasses. To receive medical coverage, consult your primary care doctor, visit the Emergency Department of a hospital, or obtain a referral after an eye examination. To get the routine vision coverage, you need to find a provider that is accepting new patients at this website: https://www.hpsj.com/find-a-provider/
From laptop or desktop browser: Search Now > Other Providers > Specialty: Optometrist
From mobile device: Search Now > Other Facility > Facility Type: Optometrist
It is a very common situation when patients are not aware of what plan they have. Here are a few tips on how to figure it out:
Contact the previous office where you used the plan and ask them if they can tell you the name of your insurance
Contact your Human Resources department, they will know the company plans better than anyone else
Contact a coworker who you know that uses the vision benefit
If you have a medical card, read it to see if it says anything specific about vision benefits, maybe your vision coverage is through Eyemed or VSP. It might also have a phone number or website to locate a provider.
