If you are happy with your contacts (because they are comfortable) and your eye doctor is happy (because your eyes are healthy), don't change the brand of your contact lenses
If you are happy with comfort, but the vision is blurry, your doctor might be able to adjust the strength of your contacts to help
If you are not happy with your contacts or your eye doctor is not happy with your eye health, I would recommend that you change the way you are using contact lenses
A careful review and fine tuning of the proper way to care for contact lenses may be the best thing for you
Sometimes better dry eye management is what is needed (changing to different contacts will not cure your dry eye)
And sometimes switching brands is the right thing to do to solve your problem
Whenever I talk to patients about trying contacts for the first time, I ask if a new patient wants to wear contacts for special occasions or weekends, or if they want to wear contacts every day
For a patient who wants to wear the lenses every day, I will offer the option of a contact lens that they wear for one day (or for a few hours) then throw it away OR I will offer a contact lens that must be cleaned carefully, but can be re-used for up to 1 month
For a patient who only wants to wear the lenses for special occasions or weekends, I will usually recommend a one day lens, because it is just so much easier to do safely
Below is a list of many different brands that I work with (link here for a more comprehensive list)
