Dr. Roger Adams, Liberal Democrat Party candidate for Bookham North
Having lived in the Bookham North ward for the past 20 years, I have a good knowledge of the issues facing local residents. My two daughters attended Eastwick Junior School and then The Howard of Effingham, during which time I was a member of the Howard of Effingham PTA and was on the committee of the Bookham and Effingham Guides. With a degree in physics and a Ph.D. in engineering, I have had a long and varied business career, including the supply of consultancy services to government. My interests include hill walking and rowing.
Should I be chosen to represent Bookham North, I will fight to retain the environment of the village and the surrounding green belt, to improve services that affect Bookham residents and to ensure that the council spending is appropriate and efficient.
My priorities for Bookham are:
I hope you will support me in keeping our politics local and in working constructively with our existing councillors as well as the Bookhams Resident’s Association, Bookham Community Association and other local groups, to demand better for our villages, our community and our environment.
This election is unusual in that there is no Conservative candidate for the ward. However, the issues we all face as a community – and the reasons that so many Bookham residents already vote Liberal-Democrat – remain the same and I would urge everyone to use their democratic right and vote.
