I have lived in Bookham for 12 years with my family and have watched them grow up in our village. As a lifelong Labour supporter, I am a big believer in strong communities and services which support them. That’s why I am standing in this election. We need to invest in our community so that both the young and the elderly are not forgotten.

My Priorities are as follows: -

• Protect our services such as Bookham Library from any cuts
• Campaign for truly affordable housing in Bookham with the emphasis on any development being on Brownfield land
• Campaign for the restoration of Bookham Youth and Community Centre as a public service. Young people need a place to go.
• Ensure the Council is held to account on its budget decisions. Last year’s finance “black hole” resulted in the 67% increase in parking charges around Mole Valley.
• Ensure planning decisions are based on sensitive development which protects the character of our special village

On a professional level I am Physics teacher and have taught for 25 years. I am passionate about education and how it can transform lives and I am keen to bring my experiences with young people to the role of councillor.
