John Chandler, Conservative Party candidate for Bookham South
I have lived in Bookham for 28 years, and I work locally in the care industry.
Active in village life, I am a keen supporter of Bookham Residents Association. I am one of their team of road stewards, and also enjoy the monthly litter pick, other commitments permitting.
As their local community officer, I am a trustee of SPACE, in the Dorking Road, spreading the good word, and helping to access necessary funding.
A keen involvement with the Joint Action Group, a Council initiative working with police and residents helps me to jointly seek solutions to crime and anti-social behaviour that sadly exists in our village.
The Conservative led council is introducing a Joint Enforcement Team to help keep us all safe, and I welcome this as a priority.
Bookham has to bite the bullet and build appropriatenew homes. I will work hard to make sure the village only takes its fair share, and our infrastructure, schools , healthcare, roads, parking are sufficiently improved and upgraded.
Local Conservatives spend your money wisely, and we have a balanced budget, recently agreed by the opposition party. We care. I will fight for the continuation of those services loved and valued by the community not currently not directly provided by Mole Valley District Council.
It is for these reasons that I seek your continued support in Bookham South.
