I am very honoured to be the Labour Candidate for Bookham North. My family recently moved to the ward from Fetcham. I was Labour’s General Election candidate in 2017 and am very familiar with the Village and the issues we have. Indeed, I am currently working with some residents who have just recently moved into Bookham due to being made homeless following a house fire.
I have always been very community focussed. My late father was a career soldier who served for 24 years with numerous tours of duty. The army community is very strong and always pulled together during these times. He was a solid Labour voter and much of that rubbed off on me.
Being a councillor is a big responsibility. I understand that many people rely on the council to make a difference to their lives. Mole Valley District Council is responsible for several key services including housing, planning and refuse collections. It’s important that local councillors are accountable for the decisions they make to ensure that residents priorities are met. I am aware of what’s required.
My Priorities are as follows: -
On a professional level I am an IT Consultant specialising in finance solutions and work with major corporations to ensure that they can improve efficiency and profitability. I have been working in this field for over 25 years now. I believe that this experience would be invaluable in the council.
On a personal level I love music and am a part time concert promoter and DJ. I use this love of music to raise funds for worthy causes. I also enjoy football, long walks in the great outdoors, scuba diving and the arts.
