Principal's and Deputys' report

Principal's Report

We head into the end of Term 3 with a touch of sadness as we bid farewell to the Year 12 Class of 2018. Whilst this is the completion of 13 years of schooling for these students, it is also the beginning of the next phase of their lives. Bomaderry High School wishes all of the Year 12 students the very best in whichever endeavour they wish to pursue.

The end of Term 3 also sees Mr Flack and Mr Kelly heading back to their respective Head Teacher positions of Industrial Arts and HSIE, as Mrs Parsons and Mr Graham return from leave at the beginning of Term 4. I’m sure you’ll join with me in thanking Mr Kelly and Mr Flack for the outstanding leadership they have provided Bomaderry High School at the Senior Executive level for the past two terms. We also thank Mr Ford and Mr Crieghton for their efforts in the relieving Head Teacher roles of Industrial Arts and HSIE. We are fortunate to have such wonderful educational leaders right across the school.

Week 7 saw a number of students attend the CHS Athletics Carnival at Homebush with the students representing both Bomaderry High School and the South Coast Region with distinction. All of the students competed admirably with grit and determination. Congratulations to Joel - 2nd 400m, Akala - 4th Multiclass 200m and 100m, and Amika - 3rd in High Jump, for their outstanding achievements!

Congratulations must also go to Hyeon and Justin who made the South Coast Open Boys Cricket team. These are fantastic achievements as Hyeon is one of the youngest players to be selected in an Open Boys side whilst Justin has made his second South Coast team for the year having featured in the all-conquering Lawn Bowls team earlier this term. Well done gentlemen!

Have a great break everyone and we’ll see you all again when we return in Term 4.

Deputys' Report

Firstly, it has been an honour and a privilege for Mr. Kelly and myself to hold the positions of relieving deputy principals for Bomaderry High School, during terms 2 and 3. It was a challenging and rewarding experience. We have developed many strong connections with students, parents, staff and the community in supporting the learning outcomes and directions of the school.

I also take this opportunity in welcoming back Mrs Parsons and Mr Graham after their leave. Welcome back! Mrs Parsons is in charge of students in yr 8 and yr 11 and Mr Graham is in charge of the yr 9 and yr 12 students.

Speaking of year 12, we wish them all the very best and good luck in their preparation for the HSC and the exciting challenges that await them in their next stage of lifelong learning.

It has been a busy time at school as we close on term 3, with rural bush fire training, peer support training, year 11 yearly exams, as well as the multitude of excursions, sporting events, and classroom learning, taking place across the school. It is marvellous to see the student body grow and learn, with students respecting one another and living up to the school’s expectations of respect, responsibility, values and pride, as we continue to move forward in our fifty first year.

Have a safe, relaxing and wonderful spring holiday, and remember that all years, from year 7 to year 12, will start back at school on Monday 15th October 2018.

Mr.S Flack and Mr. J Kelly
