YOGA and SELF MEDITATION SESSIONS

Next term we are conducting some Yoga and meditation sessions in the library. All students are welcome to attend every Thursday morning at 8:30. Sessions will run for 10 minutes and concentrate on positive breathing. Staff will also have a session every Thursday afternoon from 3:30. Thanks to Ms Lymbery who will conduct the sessions.

Staff Choice

In every newsletter I will be posting books that staff have nominated as their favourite. It could be a book from their childhood or a new release. This week - Mr Kettlewell has selected: Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency - by Douglas Adams. The book is about Dirk Gently, self-styled private investigator, sets out to prove the fundamental interconnectedness of all things by solving a mysterious murder, assisting a mysterious professor, unravelling a mysterious mystery, and eating a lot of pizza – not to mention saving the entire human race from extinction along the way.

There is only a few days left before the “Book Bingo” finishes, so I hope you are all filling in your Bingo sheet! Some great prizes will be available. It will be drawn on Wednesday 26 September.

With the holidays commencing at the end of next week I encourage you all to grab a book for some Spring reading. Stay safe, relax and I look forward to seeing you in the library. As always we are here to help and all are welcome.

Warm regards,

Mr Matthew Devlin

Teacher Librarian

Don't forget to bring to the library any unwanted books and DVD's to help with our Car Boot Sale.

The big day is on Saturday 20 October.

Year 12 have been busy completing their HSC courses and preparing their post school plan during term 3. For many students this has meant applying for university study in 2019. In addition to their university application, all students are encouraged to apply for scholarships. Scholarships are available for a number of courses and for many reasons, often many grants are not awarded as there were no applicants. Always try your luck!

Congratulations to all the students that have been invited to interview for UOW Early Admission. Remember, you need to get your paperwork signed off by Mr Morris or Ms Pastor before the end of next week.

With Year 11 exams beginning this week students are reminded to begin a regular pattern of study that will support a successful transition to Year 12. All students should be aware that employers often request student reports and take these results and comments into consideration.

Year 10 students have had a busy term considering their senior course options for 2019, and lines are in the process of being finalised. Students will be informed of their subjects early next term and meet with Ms Pastor to confirm their preferences.

Well done to the students that have completed RFS training this week. You have represented Bomaderry High School with pride and left a great impression of our school on the instructors and staff that we worked with.
