During your three days and two nights in the field, you will participate in hands-on classes for infantry/patrolling skills. The next day will be more of the same situational drills in offensive and defensive tactics. At night, individuals will pull security overnight to continue simulated training in one-hour blocks. Thursday will begin with the 6-mile ruck march at about a 17-minute-per-mile pace. The rucksack will weigh 40–60 pounds, and you must carry your weapon. After our ruck, we went home and began conducting field recovery (laundry, cleaning weapons, cleaning gear).
