Shiatsu is a Japanese form of bodywork that relaxes the muscles, stretches the body and joints, and enables movement throughout the body. Shiatsu is not just relaxing, it also addresses internal concerns such as sleep, digestion, and chronic pain as well as emotional struggles like stress, anxiety, and depression. The practitioner uses hands, thumbs, elbows, and knees to open the channels of circulation in the body.
Clients wear comfortable clothes that are easy to move in. Shiatsu sessions are done on a futon on the floor or on a table, depending on the client's preference.
Craniosacral therapy is a gentle yet powerful form of bodywork. The therapist uses light pressure on the client's body to listen to the body’s rhythms and internal movements. Through the neutral presence and attention of the practitioner, the client’s nervous system is able to relax and access its innate healing abilities.
Clients remain fully clothed during the craniosacral therapy session. Craniosacral sessions are done on a table.
In these longer sessions, the practitioner will use a hybrid of shiatsu and craniosacral to address the needs of the client's mind/body system.
Clients remain fully clothed during the hybrid shiatsu and craniosacral session. These sessions are done on a table.
