Come along to the very first Crystal Con, a one-day gaming convention to play board games, sell your old games and maybe buy someone else's, and have fun! Bring your friends and family along - the more the merrier. Tickets are available at £5-£10.
There are eateries nearby for food, snacks and drinks. Alcohol is allowed in the evening session after 3pm. If the weather is nice, we will be able to play outside as well - giant Jenga anyone?
There will be a small library of games for you to borrow from on the day, provided by the members of Crystal Palace Board Game and Beyond. Of course, you are welcome to bring your own games! We will do our best to help you find a game or extra players.
We will be setting up a space on this page for you to tout your longer games so players can sign up in advance and know the start time - check back here for details closer to the date.
We ask for no drinks on the tables to prevent accidental damage. Glass is not allowed in the garden. The venue has a small kitchen with a kettle if you'd like to get a hot drink.
There is a good corner shop with sandwiches, snacks and a good range of alcohol across the bridge. There is a also Tesco Metro and a small convenience store on the High Street (about 5 mins walk) and plenty of food delivery options via various apps (Just Eat, Uber Eats etc.).
There will be a small Bring & Buy for you to clear out your old games or pick up a new one! We've put together some simple guidelines:
Make sure all the game components are in there and seal the box (tape, elastic bands or cling film).
Add a sticker or post-it note to any games you wish to sell with your name and the price (you can add a contact number if you wish).
Note anything special such as deluxe components, custom inserts etc..
Put your games on the Bring & Buy table.
Be available to take payment (up to you how you do this; cash, bank transfer, Venmo, Paypal etc.).
Take any games that are not sold when you leave. Any uncollected games by the end of the day will be given to charity.
Tickets need to be bought in advance and are available online via our PayPal to this address (select Friends and Family option to avoid extra charges):

We are aware that not everyone will have been to a gaming event or club night before, so here's some unspoken rules so you aren't caught out:
Have fun!
Be polite and civil to everyone. We are an inclusive club.
Treat all games with more respect than you would your own - don't bend cards, make sure all the components go back in the box etc..
Pay attention during the teach, especially if it's your first time with a game - of course, feel free to ask questions if you're still unsure about a rule after the teach is finished!
Take your turn when it's your turn 😉.
No food or drink on the gaming tables as far as possible (you are welcome to bring food in and eat at a different table, drinks to be kept on the side or protected by a table leg). Also please avoid greasy or crumby snacks (like Quavers) if you are handling game pieces.
No glass to be taken outside into the garden areas at any time.
Keep children with you.
