WHY JOIN?
Participating in this BMCC MAKE-A-THON will introduce you to cutting edge new technology and prepare you to collaborate on an open-source project and be mentored by faculty and industry experts. The project will explore to solve real-world problems and will be an invaluable experience and a great addition to your project portfolio.
WHO CAN JOIN?
Programming experience is preferred but not required. One of the goals of this initiative is to offer opportunities to our students to get engaged in informal learning and develop collaborative projects beyond the classroom to acquire skills that are required by industry.
Racial Justice
Police & Judicial Reform and Accountability
From traffic stops and arrests to sentencing and parole decisions, use technology to better analyze real-world data, provide insights, and make recommendations that will drive racial equality and reform across criminal justice and public safety.
Diverse Representation
Leverage technology to prevent, detect, and remediate bias and misrepresentation in the workplace, products, and society. For corporations to succeed, it is critical to have Black representation at every level.
Policy & Legislation Reform
Utilize technology to analyze, inform, and develop policy to reform the workplace, products, public safety, and legislation.
Covid-19
Crisis Communication
Provided the technologies from IBM such as Chatbots and SMS. Get started on alleviating panic in your community. Provide an AI chatbot users can use to ask and receive information from resources collected from all over the world.
Remote Education
As the world stops our education shouldn't. Help create a Virtual Classroom along with Digital courses to provide students and teachers a friendly to use interactive virtual classroom engaging students.
Community Cooperation
Your community will need all the help it can get during these difficult times. Band together and identify those in most need. Come up with a solution to combat hunger or low resources for those that can't get any. With IBM's help you are provided with Weather and Supply chain data.
